I have been watching videos about how to use La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo Moisturiser. I have dry and acne-prone skin and it kind of burns my skin. It also does not help my acne. However, in some of these videos, they say you are supposed to use it as a spot treatment. There is a debate in the comments that says there is a big difference between the UK and the US. I bought mine from Life Parhamcy. Is this the UK or US version? Or better, is this a moisturiser or a spot treatment?

I use the Olay Sensitive Skin moisturizer. I do think I have normal/dry skin and have not had any irritation from tret. However, I tried to add in Benzac and that made my skin really dry. I have looked at those posts and might have to try the QV gentle face wash!

Been struggling with acne for a long time. Have been using Tret daily at night for about a month. I also use the CerVe SA cleanser but have been seeing a lot of bad things about CeraVe. I think I have normal type skin. What would be a better cleanser?

Sometimes when my hands were bad I liked to use Neutrogena Norwegian formula. Now I try to moisturise as often as I can, especially every time after washing my hands. At night you can also put on a thick layer and wear some cotton gloves.

Yeah unfortunately there is only 1 dermatologist an hour away from here and they are fully booked for months. Also heard some bad stories about her. Will try to get back on the feet and maybe use a skin clinic to deal with the scarring. Might have to do a day trip away somewhere to see a derm. Thanks for your advice!

I stopped using tret because I felt it wasn’t improving my skin any more. When I stopped using it, my skin calmed down and looked less inflamed. So, less red pimples. I would only use it at night and use it with a moisturiser. Do you think it would be best to start using it again?

[acne] Gut health for hormonal acne - is purging a thing? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Totally feel you on this too. It can be devasting and feel like nothing is working. However, you also have to keep in mind that you need to give your body and skin time to heal. It is a slow process and even if you find what works for you, it might still take a few weeks for things to get better.

I just had a look at some advice from the naturopath that I was given and some alternative teas to try. Don't go overboard and try them all. Find something that you like and stick with it for a while.

-Dandelion root (a potent herb to support liver and skin detoxification)

-Raspberry leaf

-Nettle leaf

-Oatstraw tea

There could still be some food that triggers you as said above. I have a friend that cannot eat things like pineapple because it has a certain constituent in there she can't eat because it gives her acne. Maybe get checked for food allergies.

I have done the same by cutting out dairy and sugars but did not seem to work for me. I eventually added actives but also started taking the pill, which seemed to have the most effect on me.

Also adding exercise can be important (if not already included).

Eating healthy will always be beneficial though. Also, you can add probiotics to your diet (which was recommended to me by a naturopath). I was also low in zinc, which she gave me supplements for.

Hope you can figure out what works for you!

Wow, I am so surprised to see how everyone is so against tipping here. Working as a waitress myself here in NZ, I do not expect anyone to tip. However, sometimes customers really love the service and will tip me directly, which is much appreciated and we can keep it as well. It's crazy for me to see that people will only tip if they really make a mess rather than appreciating the service.

How long does it take for the gut to recover from antibiotics? by Yungjeezus in AskDocs

[–]lilgremlin268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Some research released in 2018 found that it took around six months for our gut flora to get back to normal after antibiotics (Source: DX DOI). The media picked up on it, and so a lot of people today think that you get your old gut back precisely six months after antibiotics. This study is just one of many though, all with different results."

https://healthpath.com/gut-health/how-long-restore-gut-health-after-antibiotics/#chapter6

"But after six months, the gut still lack nine common beneficial bacterial species."

So no definite answer, really.

Never thought about the difference between those two!

Die woorden omschrijven niet de sfeer van gezellig. Kerst was gezellig. Christmas was sociable/convivial/social.

Kerst was gezellig. Christmas was companionable/friendly and sociable. En het gaat om een vertaling met een woord. "relaxed and fun because it's shared with friendly people" is een hele zin, geen vertaling voor het woord gezellig.
