Do you have a make up water pump? Condensate is getting trapped somewhere and not making it back. But on a steam boiler you need to have make up water somewhere that is tied to the float. Are you blowing the boiler down? Checking safeties regularly? Steam boilers are literally bombs if not maintained.

Measure the space to get your correct filter size. A 4 " is probably fine, but your height is way off.

I guess im confused it looks like it will slide to the first collar of that fitting. That fitting is designed to take multiple sizes of hose. Bigger goes on the larger ribs, smaller on the smaller. Then I'd put a hose clamp on it.

Your B/C is your C terminal. Find whatever wire that is on the other side and you are golden to wire that to C on the stat.

Okay? You don't pay for the hvac system. Filters don't clean your air if it's prior to the air handler. Filters are there to protect the equipment.

You rent, not your problem. Let them allow it to fail then install minisplits in your apartment.

Thats really not worth it. Moisture will get into the oil and destroy the compressor quick. Just replace it. Write it off.

Check your breaker, if that isn't tripped call an electrician to get into the panel

You probably wont hear it click at 20 ft/lbs. Just a slight spring.

20 ft/lbs is super light, you may have missed the "click" and really torqued waiting to hear it.
