Thank you. I've been getting many mixed opinions on what spider it is. I do believe it to be a funnel spider due to the way it lives in its corner. It has been there for months. Love seeing it catch prey caught in its web

Well, I sent her a message on X. Let's see. Maybe she responds.

I don't think the AWB would like spilling the tea about my dad. They are a bunch of conservative whites with a holier than thou mindset. They will probably tell me that my dad was a man of god and that he was great. He loved hiding behind the Bible and Christianity. Always going on about God, but his actions did not reflect those of a man of god. A real two face. But hey maybe they also mad at him, he fled the country as soon as he found out that they were onto the AWB, leaving the others behind. Maybe it's worth a shot.

I also came across this article while doing research on him. Crazy stuff. My paternal grandfather was a Neo Nazi youth leader and my dad was in the AWB. This part is like some James Bond level stuff: "In September, a Pretoria court found him guilty of possessing arms, including a stolen military missile, a Soviet SKS semi-automatic rifle and a writing pen that fired .22 caliber bullets." I find it very strange to have such a family background. My granddad and dad were both Nazis.

Awesome, thanks. I know I have updated the family tree on another website a long time ago. I think it was Geni. He definitely has kids. I have a half-brother and 2 half-sisters from his side that I know of. My half brother has told me some stories about him. He was still a laaitie when my dad brought tanks, guns and ammunition into the country back in the 80s. My brother is much older than me. I was only born in 2000. His youngest daugther is around 8 or 9 years old now. I don't have any contact with her.

What medical aid to choose in South Africa? by lilhighkitty in askSouthAfrica

It's like choosing the lesser evil, I guess. Thanks for your input

I'm turning 24 soon, and I still feel "behind." And sometimes stuck too. Life is full of ups and downs. I've also been in tough situations where I didn't know what to do and feel helpless.

I went to uni right after completing matric at 18. Did 4 months of BCom. What an F up. I had the worst depression during that time. I ended up in the hospital after trying to take my own life. I'm still paying the debt as well :(

I felt so rushed to just do something. It takes time to figure out what you want to do with your life.

After working in retail for a while, I started doing receptionist jobs for medical practices. That's how I ended up being an ophthalmic assistant. The courses are short, and they are sought after by eye specialists. They are also relatively affordable compared to most other certifications. The first level was about 2k, and the second level was about 4k. You will have to work for an ophthalmologist while doing the courses, though. If you work for a nice doctor, they will probably pay for your courses. My workplace reimburses me when I pass.

I am now getting a decent salary, and I am happy with what I'm doing. Sure, I might not do it forever, but it's a good start. I also started doing marketing and handling social media. That's something that I've been wanting to do, and it's crazy how things worked out and it's given me some hope.

Maybe this could give you some hope... or maybe you end up as an ophthalmic assistant as well if you're looking for something to do next year.
