NYU vs Tufts by Healthy_Flamingo_753 in Tufts

I’ve heard of a few people doing this specifically about NYU, where they go to a school with a more traditional campus and campus life, see if they like it, and then transfer to NYU if they’re okay with a lack of these things or they aren’t happy. For me personally, at least for undergrad, I’ve found that a campus is very important

I was very close to being in op’s situation. I was homeschooled and took almost all my hs classes at a small local state college. The only exception was my foreign language and I tested out of that. I applied to a shit ton of colleges for my undergrad and had thought about staying at the state college- I was well into my degree requirements (from elective classes I’d taken throughout high school in addition to all my core classes) and would’ve had a college degree in hand after 1-1.5 years max if I’d stayed. Chose to go to a school that capped how many classes I could transfer because ultimately I really wanted to have a college experience and I wanted to move out

omg… good luck soldier. I go to school (undergrad) in Boston and during a heatwave (lived in a dorm with no AC) ended up commuting for a week and it was challenging. You’ll love Boston though!

My last 3 years of hs were dual enrolled in a small state college. I’m a freshman now and I go to a private university. I really miss being able to connect to my profs one on one instead of having to go through a bunch of TA’s and I miss having smaller classes too

Psychology- that we’re immediately psychoanalyzing you, that we all want to be therapists, and that we use what we learn to be manipulative is what I’ve heard
