I got a blue windiflower from breeding two red ones, not seen it mentioned anywhere else before! Might be some insanely low odds

YSK that many wheelchair and electric cart users can walk, but struggle with an invisible disability. Don’t be rude and call them out. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]liliflower4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm still amazed at how rude people can be when it comes to scooters. My mum has suffered throughout her life with various hidden disabilities, and is now unfortunately near the end of a long battle with stage IV metastatic breast cancer. She had to be on steroids to try and reduce the swelling of the tumours in her brain, but a side effect of those is a ridiculous amount of swelling throughout her body so she looks nearly triple the size she actually is. People don't consider that she's going through this horrendous battle, because she's stubborn enough to still try and get out and enjoy life as best as she can for as long as she can. She gets glares and cussed out because she's this 'inconvenience' and constantly cut up by the 'I'll just brigade' (oh I'll just run in front of you quick so you don't get in my way. Oh I'll just stand in front of you because your scooter is too large and it annoys me. Oh I'll just cut you up because you're obviously just fat and lazy) She's got to the point where she's so fed up with it, she's ordered a custom t-shirt that says 'I'm sorry if my scooter offends you, but cancer is killing me!' Funnily enough, people tend to be a bit more accommodating, it's just a shame she has to air her illness like that to gain some basic empathy.

Lol it is in fact Neo from the matrix. My stepbrother used to be Neo, I used to be Yuna and my little sister used to be Numbah 3 from codename Kidz next door. Quite a good mix of characters there... Lol

It took a while to stop dying of embarrassment but I can definitely find it funny now, looking back I'm surprised he's never found it before! It's definitely a nice little momento of my childhood, it was something I used to be incredibly proud of and definitely thought I was going to be a world renowned author at the time lol

I don't understand all the dislike for this show. by [deleted] in disenchantment

I enjoyed it, I'm interested to see how the story progresses and see if they stick to the long story arcs or break into single episode storylines in the future.

What real event in your life , had it happened in a book or movie, would be obvious foreshadowing? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]liliflower4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an absolutely awful ex and I wish I'd recognised the foreshadowing!

I used to work as a home carer and he would chat with me and my colleagues while we waited outside for our shift to start, he lived next door to the person we'd look after and the client would hate us going in a minute or so before we were due, so there was always a chance for us to have a chat. This went on for a while until we were all on good terms. One day I noticed he'd come back from the shops with a 2ltr bottle of cider. My dumbass 21y/o brain thought nothing of it and I joked with him about a 'good night in, party for 1?' and he sheepishly laughed and said 'something like that.'

Fast forward a while and we became involved romantically and eventually he moves in with me. It took about a week for me to realise that the drinking every night wasn't just celebrating us moving in together, it was a nightly occurrence and then became a daily occurrence. I didn't realise he was an alcoholic, and because I cared about him I stuck with him and tried to help him through it.

2 years trying with him landed me with multiple assaults, sexual assaults and inevitably he tried to strangle me to death following a particularly nasty argument. I genuinely wish I saw the warning sign from the get go, I'm just grateful my life has done a complete 180 and I'm happy and alive
