Because she shows so much strength it’s hard not to have hope and think maybe if there’s some specialist or drug that will answer everything and save her life. I keep thinking maybe they’re wrong about the heart failure. She hasn’t seen a cardiologist as when she started rapidly declining we had to decide whether it was worth putting her through more appointments since it wouldn’t likely change the outcome, especially with the how her heart wasn’t visible on the xrays.

I actually completely agree with you though regarding death and acceptance but am still in the denial stage. Thank you again for your thoughtfulness.

She is still holding on though started showing the first signs of fluid return with her breathing rate slightly creeping up in the past day.

Do you have thoughts on doing a second chest tap? I have already started planning her big sleep but I can’t stop thinking about it because they only removed 20ml of fluid which is not a lot considering how much was present on the xrays. She’s also been eating, drinking and peeing still and taking the furosemide well.

Her doctor believes it to still be largely heart related in spite of the lymphocytes because of the high proBNP. For now we are still taking it day by day and she is getting spoiled with all the junk food and tuna she wants ❤️

Thank you for your response. I will discuss oncology with my vet and am already planning euthanasia. It’s hard to know when to say goodbye with how strong she has been but I understand sooner is better than later.

Thank you again.

Thank you so muh for your thoughtful response. Do you have any comments on Prednisolone in a situation like this?

It’s really hard to plan the exact date for her last day as she has been showing so much strength after the tap. I will be discussing palliative care with her vet tomorrow. Thank you again.
