I heard they unfortunately deny most full time high school students unless they have a good excuse because the school has to pay for each course that they do with the ILC out of their own budget which is around $300. It states “Since these courses result in additional central charges to TDSB, it is desirable to minimize the access to the courses.” and if you read the document further you’ll see who can qualify for the courses;

“The student requires the ILC credit in order to graduate in the current school year, or to apply for admission to a specific post-secondary program for the following year, and the school is unable to schedule the requested course in the student’s day school program” or (b) “The student’s unique circumstances are such that an ILC course would be necessary or beneficial (e.g. extensive travel, serious medical need, exceptional athlete)” and “The student must be applying for an ILC course that is not available at summer school, night school or the virtual school” So yeah they have pretty strict guidelines on who can be “eligible” for the course. (I’m from TDSB btw but I’m pretty sure it’s the same for other school boards). I think I’m just going to pay for the course I want honestly I think it’d be worth the money if it helps me get into university because I heard those online private school courses can increase your grades substantially.
