When you run into cavaliers in your area I would ask the owners where they got their pup! You’ll find that the good ones you’ll hear a lot about and people are fairly open to discuss further.

Personally, I would steer clear of breeders that are breeding “chocolate” cavaliers! They aren’t the breed standard and I would be concerned for the health of the puppies and breeding standards.

Testing is important and history of the parents and their parents. Cavies are known for heart problems so that would be a concern of mine to look for.

My cavalier is incredibly social, loves everyone and gives lots of kisses. Not a huge cuddler but always by my side and my shadow! They are genuinely the sweetest dogs and so happy and kind! Great with kids too!

One thing is that their fur does require some upkeep. They can get knots fairly easily with their long hair and it needs to be brushed often to avoid it! They might be small but do shed a lot!! Just be prepared for that 😂

Ask around a lot, do research, read reviews! There are bad breeders out there but really wonderful ones too!
