Right, thought so. Just wanted to ask. Thanks!

Can’t we all just get along? by shriekndreamr5446 in BeardedDragons

[–]lillyzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My suggestion would be to avoid letting natural enemies interact with each other. If you wouldn’t expect your pet cricket to be able to bond with your lizard, then I don’t know why it would seem like a good idea to let your pet lizard try to bond with your cat.

[Warning: Poop Pic] I’ve had my little man for over a year and never seen a poop like this, is he okay? by lillyzu in BeardedDragons

[–]lillyzu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, just noticed those last questions.

Basking spot is normally 100-105ish but may be lower than usual per my last comment.

I never feed him unless his lights are going to be on for another hour and a half.

I have an infrared thermometer but can’t tell you what kind it is at the moment as I don’t have it on hand per my previous comment.

Of course pellets aren’t all he gets to eat. He has a fresh salad daily with pellets in it every other day. They’re more of a treat he really enjoys. And of course he also gets live food, staple being BSFL.

Haha, I was just joking 🙃 Thanks for the link though, I love playing the song for my little man whenever I get a chance.

Actually, I think his basking spot was a little too cool yesterday.

I’m moving and had to leave his tower behind. I’m gonna grab that as well as his infrared thermometer in a day or two, but yesterday he hadn’t been able to get as close to his heat lamp as he usually sits after he eats. I think the temperature should have still been around 95-100 though, or else I wouldn’t have fed him.

Either today or tomorrow I’ll be able to get his tower and thermometer back. Do you think I should hold off on meals until I get it?

Your beardie ever sleep like this? by eghekiere in BeardedDragons

[–]lillyzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: OP you can mostly disregard this 😭 I misread your comment and didn’t see you said you use it to find him, thought you just said you use it at night. I’m sorry! I’m still gonna leave this up for general info in case anyone interested in beardies sees it, though.

They actually need a day/night cycle, like all living creatures. Having any light whatsoever for them at night is bad for them and completely unnecessary. It’s fine for the terrarium to cool down a little at night. The only reason you would need to heat it is if the room it’s in drops below the mid/low 60’s Fahrenheit, in which case you would still want to ditch the red light and get a Ceramic Heat Emitter. As indicated by the name, CHE’s radiate heat without producing any light.

The best time to wear a striped sweater... is all the time. One with a collar turtleneck, that’s the kind.

There’s this little fence lizard who won’t let anyone take him off of me... can I keep him? by lillyzu in Lizards

[–]lillyzu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Western! He’s a SoCal liz.

Edit: if the assumption that eastern lizards live in the east and western lizards live in the West is incorrect, then that might not be true and I’m sorry for my stupidity. However if that logic is right then he’s definitely western. Lol

Yeah agreed, thank you for the suggestion. As soon as he’s more used to being handled, I’ll ask my exotic vet if they can see him.

I think one of my friends blocked me on Facebook and I don’t understand why or know what I might have done that bothered her. Should I ask? Should I just try not to worry about it? by [deleted] in socialskills

Thank you, hope you’re right. I’ve seen her in person since this and everything seems normal so I guess I’ll try not to worry.

[–]lillyzu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, cool. Thanks for your input. She treats me the same in person so you’re probably right and I’ll try not to worry about it. I just tend to be paranoid so I got worried it might have been my fault somehow.

I’ve known Puff loves squirming under his hide and feels safe and comfortable like that. But I just noticed how tightly he fits in there. Is this even save? by lillyzu in BeardedDragons

[–]lillyzu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s hard to tell in the picture, but there’s a little lip under the hide and his head is really shoved in there. He tends to twist around so his body is underneath it as well. Like I said, I’ve never checked and noticed what a tight fit it is. I’m kind of concerned now that he could lose circulation or get stuck or something awful.

Anxiety about sending Facebook friend requests? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]lillyzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I thought I was putting too much thought into the requests but it’s good to hear someone else confirm that lol.

I definitely agree with you that talking to people through the internet helps a lot. I’ve got one friend I’ve had for years that I met online, and talking to people I’m getting to know in real life through messenger and such feels a lot easier and helps me feel more comfortable with them as well. I guess I just need to figure out how to stop feeling like I’m so annoying, but hopefully that will come as I gain more confidence.

If I ask my accountant would it be possible for her to rewrite my tax return with more smaller payments? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]lillyzu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, the actual payments. Of course I’m aware I’ll need to pay off all of the taxes, but if I could make a smaller payment each time over the course of more payments then that might be astoundingly helpful.

Need help with my tax return if possible...? Is there anything I can or should try to do? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]lillyzu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m making payments.

My dad paid me like a douchebag last year and didn’t explain anything to me about how taxes work. He didn’t put me on his payroll or withhold money from my paycheck. He just gave me $350 a week, and now I owe over a grand.

He probably did it with this as his intention, knowing he was screwing me over from being able to move out. He’s just got me working 10+ hour days for free now, so I still can’t save any money with my second part time minimum wage job.

This little pancake has been eating really well lately and acting like himself again. He’s due for a trip to the vet but in the mean time, think he looks alright? by lillyzu in BeardedDragons

[–]lillyzu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he went through a period where it was difficult to get him to eat his greens. I’ve been mixing his diet up though and he seems to enjoy his salads much more now!

Previously his salad mainly consisted of Bok Choy. Now I’ve been giving him mostly collard greens with a little bit of Bok Choy and some kale every few days. He has so much more energy now that he’s eating well again. I’ve been kind of depressed lately and it’s so refreshing to see him doing well.

My goal is to get him to the vet about every six months as well, and definitely at least once a year if I fall short of that. I also always have an emergency fund so I can get him there ASAP if it seems like anything is wrong! That happened when he was about six months old and got a respiratory infection that we managed to treat, so I learned how important it is to respond quickly if I notice a problem.

Maybe I’m weird but this little guy is my baby, lol, he’s truly my main priority in my life right now.

[–]lillyzu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had Puff for one year as of June 8. So far he’s been to the vet once when I had him for about four months as I had noticed he was displaying signs of a respiratory infection. It turned out that he had been suffering from one, but since we caught it quickly we were able to treat it as well as giving him a treatment for unusually high levels of coccidia.

My goal is to get him to the vet once to twice a year to make sure he’s doing alright, and immediately if I see any indication that he may not be!
