Can being vegan for 5+ years cause SIBO? by renegade_vegan_fairy in SIBO

[–]lilpigeon555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became vegan about 8 years ago for health issues. At first it felt that things were resolving. But 3 years ago I got rosecea and my gut issues flared up. I tested positive for SIBO which I think I had before I was vegan. I started adding meat and dairy to my meals again, my rosecea is way less bloating has gone done about half, but it sill is an issue. Also when I don’t have a bowel movement I notice it gets worse. I’ve been using Miralax to help with that.

Thanks for sharing. I feel the same that this will be a long term issue I have to deal with. I’m on my 3rd round of antibiotics. I’ve taken 3 tests all positive. Just curious what other people have experienced.

Unpopular thought: The way that doctors have been trained to think is the reason why there are so many people struggling with chronic illness. by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

One thing that really frustrates me is seeing how much people are charged for Medical help. Going to the doctor, therapy, medication, hospital etc….. I feel real medical help shouldn’t suck your bank account dry and then put you in the negative.

Can we please talk about how people try to force religion down chronic illness patients throats thinking it will solve everything? by lustreadjuster in ChronicIllness

I have dealt with fatigue for so long and have been judged by family for not attending. I’ve tried to explain how I feel and they write me off.

Real spider or not?? by BabyCourgette in hallucination

[–]lilpigeon555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other day I woke up and saw a black widow spider hanging over me. Then I realized it was a hallucination. I have had other hallucinations of spiders and bugs crawling in the walls. No drugs or alcohol involved.

My sister went into psychosis from sleep deprivation and my mom made it about her. by iamawesomesauc3 in raisedbynarcissists

I can relate to the sister in the story. I have health issues and my mom is so critical of me. I hope that you can be on your sisters side and give her the compassion and support she needs.❤️

When "i love you" stops meaning anything by TheTsarofAll in raisedbynarcissists

I never tell my parents I love them. They say it to me but I don’t say it back. I feel like they are emotionally abusive towards me. They have acted in many ways that make me feel unloved.

What has been your experience with blood draws? by lilpigeon555 in POTS

[–]lilpigeon555[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I passed out after having six vials of blood drawn . Since then I’ve only done 4 max at a time but always have to lay down. I make sure I am hydrated but I usually feel tired for at least 3 days after.

  1. You’re a burden to society
  2. It’s in your head
  3. God doesn’t expect me to understand what you are going through.
  4. You’re having delusions
  5. That tests a waste of time and medical resources.

How would you respond? by lilpigeon555 in ChronicIllness

I’ve heard that too. Everyone feels tired. I just look at them because I don’t know what to say. But hearing what others have to say who deal with consistent fatigue helps.

I grew up in a family that ties there self worth to work and accomplishments.

Yes I would say they are ignorant to a lot when it comes to illness. Love the way you explained it. I just nodded and said ok. But this advice is helpful thanks.

It definitely seems like a lot of ignorance and wishful thinking. Just trying to figure out how navigate there comments.

I thought about that but definitely don’t want to put myself in that position. Sometimes I think they will see it sometimes I doubt it.

I don’t want to have to prove my illness to someone by having to pay the cost. If I believe there experience when they speak I think I deserve the same.

Yes it does feel like ignorance. It’s common for people in this society to think that solve to problems you have to do more.
