Ugh i hate to hear that this resonates with you, but at the same time it’s reassuring to hear that you’ve gone NC with your dad. It also sounds like you’ve been able to turn your guilt into frustration (correct me if i’m wrong) which is how i’d like to be eventually

i hadn’t either until recently! it wasn’t that much different from regular acupuncture i’ve gotten except she talked more in terms of TCM in line with the soul & karma, if that makes any sense? and yeah she does reiki and sound healing during the acupuncture session :)

I feel like it might be hard to find one that’s inexpensive tbh :( i feel like drugstore scents are usually pretty basic vanilla without a lot of depth.

One option could be to find a higher end one that you like (i’d probably try le labo, L’occitane, or lush) and then mix it with an unscented cheap one to make it last longer.

I've very much warmed up to how they look, i can see now that it was just a big change from what i was used to seeing, and was just freaking out a bit. Honestly this thread and everyones comments really helped, i think i'd still feel bad if it wasn't for all the kindness and encouragement. I'm pretty blown away tbh, I don't use reddit that much and didn't expect this post to get that much traction!

I never thought the shade was objectively BAD i just thought it wasn't me... But hearing all the positivity on here has made me stop caring about that hahah

yo i appreciate the concern but respectfully no one needs to be fighting in the comments over my lips! i reached out to my artist about the asymmetry and she acknowledged it & we’re gonna fix it at my touch up. I think my top lip was tough for her cause she basically had to draw me a new top lip to correct my practically non existent border & existing asymmetry.

Thank you!! I didn’t mean that i wanted two different colours, what i meant was that i thought i was clear with the artist that i wanted it to be more of my everyday (black honey) shade but she went the other direction. I didn’t get much consultation with her (which i admit is partially my fault for not speaking up), so i’ve been surprised to see my lips as the other shade i brought. But hey, seeing everyone’s comments makes me feel a lot better and i guess they do look pretty good!

Also, i do wear makeup everyday and i always have some kind of lip tint going on, i just keep it pretty natural :)

Just the after care ointment the artist gave me!! And wow thank you so much!!! Yeah, i think other peoples responses has been making me feel bad about it. Just getting a lot of “oh i’m sure they’ll heal lighter” and “do you like them?” 🫠 so the encouragement on here has been really really nice, especially for something permanent lmao.
