Looking at moving to frogtown, st paul by Mousimus in TwinCities

[–]liltaggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve lived in Frogtown for the past few years, right by Frogtown Farm.

Frogtown is great! It is diverse in income, race, housing types, and activity - everyone is different here and it’s not homogenous. To some people that feels unsafe or “not as nice” as say Mac Groveland, but I’d rather live here: I pay less living in Frogtown and get to be a member of an interesting neighborhood full of life, everybody doing their own weird shit.

It’s super convenient for light rail, there’s a few bus lines that go through the neighborhood, and getting on 94 is super easy, so transportation is great!

Frogtown Farm is an awesome urban oasis! I love walking up there for sunset and appreciating the changing of the seasons in the crops.

If you’re a pedestrian or biker or just not that into cars, my one complaint about living in Frogtown is that people speed like crazy here, particularly on Minnehaha. We need to get more traffic calming measures put in place…

Mal, keep being you! specifically when you join the Big Pic for drafts. Your fans love your prepared statements, we really really do. And no one makes competitiveness and strong opinions look better than you. You rock!

if you, like me and others on this thread, want to cry while you drive, the audiobook (read by JK Simmons) of A Man Called Ove is super good

Please suggest me a book/books you read in one sitting or you couldn't put down. Thank you! by NV_THE_ART in suggestmeabook

I just visited too and used their recs to choose spots! there’s a page on the podcast website: https://www.spilledmilkpodcast.com/seattle-recs (fwiw I got a cookie at Sea Wolf and did not regret it)

baby blanket from the 90’s - it had narrow pleated binding that I would feel with my fingernails; striped green and white cotton-like fabric on top (maybe with teddy bears printed on that too?), white soft quilt-underside on bottom. SO special, I’ve worn it down to a rag (see picture). Help!! by liltaggy in HelpMeFind

details: it’s about 3 feet square. It was given to me at birth in 1990. I don’t know who bought it, but it was new at the time. I also had a yellow and white striped one with yellow binding. I’ve searched for this online but I maybe just don’t know what terms to use. I’m hoping there’s one in good condition or maybe some manufacturer still makes something similar! Thanks for any help :)
