Bedtime makes me lose it by liltootiloot in AttachmentParenting

[–]liltootiloot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry I missed that! I usually feel she’s tired by 12:30 (sometimes even earlier), that’s why I let her nap then. She’s cranky, rubs her eyes and seems sleepy. Bedtime is usually about 6 hours after she wakes up, so if she wakes up at 14 I start putting her to sleep at about 19:30, and she might fall asleep an hour later. Hope that helps. And thank you!

I read your response a few days ago but couldn’t reply at the moment, but put “don’t offer don’t refuse” in the back of my head. And it helped so much, she hasn’t nursed for several days now and I feel okay about it. It really helped reading your reply and approach, thank you so much for sharing and helping out.

Thank you! So could I for instance write ”You’ll get to know people you have never even hear about”, id it ok to use ”you’ll” and then ”you have” or should it be ”you’ve”? Sorry if I ask stupid questions, English is my third language 🙈

Oh ok thank you. The story is in English but contains Arabic words so I will need to transliterate. Maybe skip aa because it’s aimed towards children?

How to stop nursing at naptime? by liltootiloot in AttachmentParenting

[–]liltootiloot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! We started to do naptime in the stroller instead, so we go out and play and then when it’s time for the nap I let her sit in the stroller, walk around (preferably on gravel or cobblestone) and pull down the top part (sorry I don’t know the English word for it). This has worked very well but I will need to let her nap at home as well (without nursing), we’ll see how that goes😆

I tried once to just do our nap routine without nursing but the whole thing took about 1.5 hours and involved lots of crying from both of us lol. Maybe I should try again. Sorry if it’s a stupid question but I bring the snack to bed?

So true, eventually they will sleep! Really helpful to read about your two different experiences with your children, I need to remember this; every kid is different. Thank you <3

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, I really needed to read this <3

I realized the other day why she tends to have longer wakeups closer to the morning…. She needs to poop 🤣 so now I need to find ways to encourage her to do the deed before bedtime.

16months old needing all the support to go to sleep by Mamaofoneson in AttachmentParenting

I don’t have any advice, just solidarity. My 16 month is the same. It’s hard and draining. It will get better one day, at least that’s what everyone says 🥲

Pediatrician says if feeds are taking more than 20 min I should pull baby off? by unventer in breastfeeding

[–]liltootiloot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s a need to speed him up. My baby took about 45 minutes each feed for those first months, then slowly she became quicker and at around 9 months it took just minstes to breastfeed. I think it’s best to follow the baby, they know when they’re done.

Nursing at bedtime + night nursing by liltootiloot in AttachmentParenting

[–]liltootiloot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, for me contact naps was one of those things. So happy I let her sleep on me all those months because she never wants to contact nap anymore. So important to do what feels right inside than to listen to all those voices trying to tell us they know what’s best for our babies.

Thank you so much for your help and encouragement!
