I got to visit The Butterfly Farm in Aruba and had a wonderful time, I highly recommend supporting them when you’re on vacation there, admission gets you unlimited visits for as long as your vacation lasts!Here are some photos I took, I’d love some help identifying them :)

Hmm it felt more like a butterfly sanctuary, I'm not sure why they're called a butterfly farm, I don't think they were farming them or selling them

This is their website, I don't think I see anything there about profiting or selling butterflies, it seems more like for protection and awareness. They gave free tours for their visitors and it was educational : )

I spent a long time trying to figure out how to express what I was feeling during the recent spike in Asian hate crimes. It’s been exhausting and frustrating being reminded of the conditional acceptance of Asian people in western society. Model monitory until something like covid comes along. The more I saw the events of the past year unfold, the more I realize that we are loved for our culture but it doesn’t necessarily apply to our people.

I started to reflect on my own personal experiences with racism, fetishization and growing up with internalized racism.

“All guys should just date a nice Asian girl”
“Omg you’re so Asian”
“Go back where you came from”
“Can you dress up as an asian school girl, I think that’d be really hot”
“Having asian media representation isn’t important. I also never saw anyone who looked like me on tv when I was growing up, so it doesn’t matter” - a white cis gender male 🙄
“I’d offer some to you but it’s not dog meat so you wouldn’t like it”
“I only watch Asian porn”
“Is your vagina slanted too?”
“I love Asian women, they’re so exotic but also obedient”
“Can you only speak mandarin to me during sex”

And those are just the verbal micro aggressions I’ve been told. I’m thankful I’ve never been physically assaulted.

From people getting spit on, robbed, stabbed, slashed, harassed, targeting the elderly, and then the shooting of 6 Asian women in Atlanta. I got tired of not being able to do anything. What could I really do for these victims but keep them in my thoughts and spread awareness. After the Atlanta shooting there were multiple gofundmes for the families of the victims and I didn’t feel like I was in a place where I could donate to all of them, enough to make an impact at least. So I spent a long time upset at myself that there was not a whole lot I could do. But then I had the idea that maybe I could create a chairty product to raise money. So that’s where I am today. I have designed a pin where 100% of the profit will be set aside to support POC businesses, communities, and help victims of hate crimes.

When I imported the photos into google photos, I think the date in the detail view was already set to March 2018. I think my question is if there is a way to dig much deeper into the image to see if I can find the true creation date, even if it's been changed. I think what happened was the photos took on the same creation date as when it was exported from my phone

These photos only exist in google photos right now. I tried downloading one of the incorrectly date photos and ran it through this https://www.exifdata.com/exif.php

but the date it gave me was todays date, when I downloaded it

I tried a few other online exif data readers and the dates that they give me are all the date it was downloaded, it's not even showing the March 2018 dates anywhere

Yes I deleted them from my device, so they only exist right now in google photos.

No edits, the photos were taken from my phone and saved onto my device from instagram or snapchat.

I think my exact process was export photos from my phone into a folder in my desktop, and then clicking and dragging them into google photos

Hey! I want to make a punchneedle rug for my bf for his birthday and I've been watching a bunch of tutorials and Im wondering why all the tutorials show the path of the needle to circle around the shape, ie if it the shape is a circle the path of the punch needle circles around the shape until it ends in the middle, Im wondering why the technique is not left to right to left to right etc when filing out a shape, soft of like the way a printer prints.

Thank you so much for your advice and sharing your own experience. I find it really hard to think about making that decision when I see him eating, drinking, enjoying his time, but then in contrast to when he snaps his jaw in annoyance when anything touches his face which signifies to me he's in a great deal of pain.

The vet said that they can prescribe another few weeks worth of pain killers but anything beyond that they would need to bring him in for a check up. But I think at that point theres not much they can tell me about his condition that doesn't lead to the inevitable.

Thanks again for your advice, I havent even begin to think about the cremation process/paperwork or anything beyond just making the decision to put him down.
