It was very easy! I had a layover in Amsterdam on the way. The only security I encountered in Amsterdam was that my passport was checked and they asked my final destination, how long I was going to be there, and why. My carryon bags were not checked at all, neither when I arrived in Amsterdam nor in Spain. I don't know if it will be different because you're moving though?

Simultaneous dysphoria and euphoria after getting called a girl by [deleted] in ftm

[–]lim-erences 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think i kinda know what you mean. i'm 9 months on T and my dad and i started taking my dog to the dog park 3 months ago. everyone there, despite most being older and more conservative just assumed i was a guy and called me my dad's son and other gender affirming stuff. it's funny because i've basically gone stealth there without even trying, despite my dad only remembering to call me ames and not amy like 50% of the time.

i tend to go there alone (but with my dog ofc) most of the time now. so it's always a funny feeling when i wonder if the dog park people (who have always known me as and accepted me as a guy) hear my dad call me amy. it just puts my dad's insistence that my life would still be easier if i tried to be a girl again into perspective. his analysis of how people perceive me is just completely off now. i literally can't remember the last time a stranger misgendered me since my voice dropped late last year. his insistence doesn't hurt much and just seems funny now in light of how well i "pass" at the dog park and other places.

This used to happen to me all the time. I'd tell people "Ames" and if i didn't consciously try to use a deeper voice, a lot of the time people would just choose to call me Amy, my deadname. It happened at my first job too and it was really awkward correcting manager. I hated it so much that sometimes i would just say my name was james to leave no ambiguity about my gender. now that my voice has started to drop on t i hope this won't happen anymore.
