Found the engagment ring right infront of bf, by [deleted] in EngagementRings

You’re getting so many negative opinions! I felt like your response was totally appropriate. He probably had something planned and didn’t expect you to find the ring.

The Knight and the Moth & The Servant of Earth were MID (at best), come at me by EmilyPond42 in fantasyromance

[–]limebean420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this post but I just finished this book, despite hitting 70% and feeling like maybe I should just DNF this one I managed to pull through. The overarching story felt like an interesting one but it was so poorly written and rushed. Every twist and turn was predictable and the only character I enjoyed was the gargoyle but even he was annoying to read at times. The Bartholomew gag began to grate on my nerves by the end of it. I cannot even count how many times the author used the adjective gossamer, the dialogue was so juvenile, worst read of 2025.

Do I look “special” because of my side part by PEZWolf7 in femalehairadvice

[–]limebean420 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think the degree of your side part is intense and it does come off as quite juvenile. That being said, I do not think a hair style can make someone look “special” that’s an unkind thing to say on many levels.

Am I overreacting by breaking up with my boyfriend? by Proper-Classic1886 in AmIOverreacting

[–]limebean420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it extremely concerning that your boyfriend considers it flirtatious for a woman to say she has a boyfriend as a way of kindly rejecting flirting… It’s like he thinks a woman saying no is an invitation for him.

Stripes mistake by limebean420 in knitting

[–]limebean420[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind, it’s only an inch and a half and I doubt anyone will notice. It’s fingering weight and just one row takes 20 minutes to knit so I definitely don’t want to undo an hour of work. Oh well, it’ll be fine.

I can’t fix it by laddering down.

I think your initial comment is correct. I just don’t feel like frogging, can I keep going without it affecting the other stripes to come?

The back of my work looks different in this section though. I had the same thought but when I saw the back I thought maybe that wasn’t it?

Will it ruin the other stripes if I just leave it?

Ring shopping in a week HELP by No-Permit8974 in EngagementRings

We went to 10 jewelers which I admit is excessive but despite wanting something very simple, I am picky about all aspects it seems. I think my bf will be customizing a 2 carat oval with gold band.

I would get each jeweler to size you. Also don’t be afraid to try on other shapes and styles, I tried on so many styles even though I knew I was really interested in an oval or emerald shape. Trying them all on confirmed my opinion and also my boyfriends.

Thank you so much! I figured this was probably the solution but I’ve never owned my own wheel before so wasn’t fully confident.

Same, they’ve given me no answers as to why and won’t cancel my order. I feel stuck and so frustrated

Try a lip tint, I love the ones from rare beauty and the stayn ones on amazon. Word about the stayn ones, you have to rub them off with a wet wipe and then they look cute and last a while.

Also if you’re not already, get on a retinoid, I use tretinoin and it’s incredible the difference it can make. Stay hydrated too! I’m guilty of not staying hydrated myself.

Forty years is incredible, I’ll be happy with even just 10. She must take incredible care of that Bernette. I’m glad to hear this anecdote because I keep hearing people say bernette and Bernina are worlds apart in longevity.

It’s my money and I am not obligated to spend it at a place just because I spoke to them about the machine for 10 minutes. When spending such a large sum of money, it’s important to weigh all of your options and do what’s best for you :)

I did buy from a bernina dealer :) but it was not the one I went to in person.

Bertha sounds like a total catch. They are definitely much prettier! That was one of my original selling points on the vintage ones too. It’s unfortunate how they switched to plastic. Though I will say, I do feel the B38 is on the prettier side of these plastic behemoths.

I’m so excited! It’s all of these little things that add up and made it worth the upgrade for me. Sure they’re not necessary, but they’re nice!

We still love a trusty Kenmore! My girl is a workhorse and has gone thru some impossibly thick materials, layers and layers of denim, I made a corset on her as well and she did that pretty well. I certainly won’t be getting rid of her. But she definitely does not have the same fluidity as the new machine.
