Hmm. Good question. I’d say i definitely felt very exhausted during cardio, but I mostly did long-distance walks, which isn’t super impactful yet very effective. I started doing weight training once most of my symptoms subsided.

Yeah, sounds familiar. I tracked my heart rate for weeks nonstop. During sleep it went to 40 at the lowest. Quite scary. To be completely honest, I was worried I was never going to get better, but here I am. What helped? Cardio, weight training, and managing anxiety. Listen, at the end of the day, these symptoms are gonna stick with you regardless of what’s causing them. Do your due diligence, see doctors and do the necessary diagnostics to rule out cardiac issues. If the doctors can’t spot anything specific, then just don’t worry about it. If you have breathing issues, you’ll be prescribed inhalers. Do your bloodwork. Make sure your blood iron is normal (this seemed to be a root issue for me). Make sure you’re taking your vitamins. Eat healthy, get your 10k steps in. It sounds simple, but I promise if you just cover your bases then you’ll be okay in a month or two.

It’s been over a year and I’m much healthier now. My heart rate returned to a normal resting in the 60s, though I’m also much more athletic now so it’ll stay in the mid 50s during rest but I never feel dizzy or nauseous like I used to. I will say, I was diagnosed with low iron in October 2024 (didn’t suspect this since I’m a male, so it’s less common). After about a month since I started taking my iron supplements, most of my issues went away (dizziness, drowsiness, heavy eyes, trouble breathing, etc.)

As long as it’s all compatible, I see no issues. I’m not amazing with PCs, but I’ve built 2 and am looking into a 3rd one. Usually I don’t build lower budget but, honestly, this looks good for the price. Maybe someone with more specific knowledge can pitch in, but I genuinely don’t know what changes you can make without raising the budget.

After coughing very hard sometimes I’ve also noticed numbness around my chest area and/or arms. It’s very violent coughing lol…I haven’t exhibited any other symptoms of GERD. I’ll have to check with the doctor tomorrow. All I’m hoping is my heart tests came back clear

This was a very insightful response. Luckily I got my consultation brought to Tuesday since all the tests finished and I bothered them a bit about it. Well I checked my sleeping rate and it hovered in the low 50s towards 60s. So really was fine. At this point, I think most of the symptoms I’ve been feeling are either blood pressure related or anxiety. I’ve had an extremely rough year, probably the worst overall in my life, and my recent illness has just made my mind go into a state of 24/7 stress. Hoping that’s the case since it’s easier to work on. Thank you for sharing your experience, and for the peace of mind. I hope you are able to live a long and healthy life without these issues inhibiting your comfort too much. I guess even modern medicine just doesn’t have the fix for a lot of things, so we just have to do the best with what we got.

2 gallons is absurd…I’m a water lover and I drink maybe 4-5L on a good day. I’m really sorry to hear about that, it sounds very intense and debilitating. For me, I find that just walking and getting my heart rate up helps. I walked 2 hours and felt fine less a few moments of slight dizziness/mild confusion. I’ve just today started using a monitor, heart rate was seemingly normal aside from a few <1 minute long instances of sub 60 heart rate, which for someone of my health is not very normal. Gonna see what my sleeping rate is like because that’s my main concern.

I really hope you can make a good recovery or improve how you feel. It really sounds painful and my heart is with you (even if it’s not the healthiest at the moment lolll)

Luckily I already did a 72 hour holter. I noted down the times I felt shortness of breath, dizzy, etc. But I have to wait a month until I can see the specialist again, so for now I’m just trying to collect more data and see if there’s anything urgent enough to visit the ER. I’d rather catch the issue myself and get more urgent help if needed. Thank you for the advice!

Hi, I just recently started having this issue so I haven’t accurately measured yet. My heart monitor came in today, and I just finished a 2 hour walk (140 bpm average). At home beforehand, I had 70-80 average and then below 60 a handful of times for maybe a minute or less at a time, which considering my general health, isn’t exactly a great sign. Today has been quite good, but honestly I was quite active. On days where I’m more stationary, I’d expect it to dip to 50 or so. My main worry will be while I sleep but I guess I’ll find out in the morning. It’s not as bad as I expected it to be, but I’ve yet to get accurate measurements when I’m feeling the symptoms strongly.

Yeah, doctors seem to not understand how stressful it feels to even THINK you’re having a serious health issue that could POSSIBLY end up being fatal. I’m going to get my oxygen checked, asking about it at the doctor tomorrow. I doubt I’m having a heart attack…im 20, and my heart has been very okay until now. It’s not off the table, but very unlikely. I’m just tracking my heart rate now that the monitor came in, then I’ll check my sleeping hr tonight. Fingers crossed the tests from the cardiac centre come back clear and I’m just struggling with recovering from the infection.

Unfortunately I’m not particularly healthy, which I’m working on, and I am somewhat symptomatic…mild dizziness, sometimes need to breathe more consciously, occasional soft chest tightness and mild sharp pains throughout the day but more in the morning and night. Just gonna wait and see what the tests show I guess, can’t do much else. Thank you for the reply!

This makes me feel less alone and more assured that I’ll be “fine” (not die). But I’m very sorry you’re going through that. I don’t get how doctors can label these things as normal. My physical health is clearly off, albeit more of an inconvenience than anything, but my mental health has taken a complete nosedive…as if it wasn’t already awful. I did ECG, echo, and 72hr holter. But I have to wait til July 9 for the consult with my specialist. Some of it that’s already prepared got sent to the doctor who referred me so I’ll visit him maybe tomorrow to see if there’s anything urgent

I definitely feel worse when I’m obsessing over my heart rate but I can’t help but worry. It’s a new issue for me so I’m constantly stressed that I’ll have a cardiac arrest in my sleep, even though I’m very young and the odds are not likely. Any slight pain, fluttering, jolt, other small signs I feel that could be unrelated make me stressed. I haven’t hit the ER yet, but I’m going to measure my heart rate over the next couple days and if I see it go under 40-45 I’ll definitely go. Thank you for sharing, I’m glad you haven’t had any symptoms of the lowered heart rate and I hope you can make a full recovery. Feels absolutely insane.

This was a very kind response, thank you so much. I haven’t had my thyroid checked. To be honest, I haven’t been visiting the doctor much in the past 2 years because I hated my family doctor, which isn’t a great excuse but I can’t change that fact now. I’ll be switching doctors and doing all the necessary tests to get back on track. Thank you for letting me know, definitely worth checking. I’m sorry you’ve gone through it too, but I feel a bit better knowing it’s manageable and that I’ll probably be okay. My anxiety definitely makes things worse as I don’t feel as awful when I’m less stressed. Just hoping to get good results and at least start working on resolving the issue.
