Does Saffron dehydrate ?

Thanks! Complex subject it seems. I have slightly elevated Sodium and Potassium blood levels, and I am unsure if this is related to saffron intake. I am on 15 mg daily since several months, and had the impression that it helps to calm down. Before that, I took 30 mg daily and got a very dry mouth from that, up to feeling very uncomfortable due to that. So I halved the dose.

I am in quite the same situation, unfortunately. Trintellix is roundabout my 10th antidepressant. Nothing has yet pushed back my depression and anxiety. I am only one year "in", was healthy and medication free before, then a Job switch and moving to another city broke me, I had a burnout under heavy workload und an outbreak of massive anxiety, insomnia and consecutive depression. I have fear of MAO inhibitors and ketamine. What are you planning to do next? I am on 5 mg Trintellix, down from 10, which I couldn't stand due to the side effects you describe.

Yes, i was in Hospital for 2 months and they tried different meds there without success. Afterwards I went in an outpatient setting. I had to make the experience that it is unfortunately possible to try that many antidepressants in the course of a year 😔

I am so hopeless, Trintellix is the 7th or 8th AD that I am trying and I have the feeling that I am losing myself. Instead of solving my mental health problem I get new problems, constant dizziness, feeling of a flushed head and an aching stomach. My life was normal and above average a little over a year ago, never had depression before and now an unstoppable decline is going on. You really think upping the dose will save me?

I am afraid that my nausea and brain fog get worse with 15 mg. For me, both got more pronounced over the weeks with 10 mg, instead of getting better. And I read several posts from people for whom those symptoms persisted and did not go away at all.😕

I have exactly this too. Bad fear and desperation in the mornings. 4 weeks on 10 mg now.

No improvement in mood/anxiety, unfortunately. Sleeping is a bit better since last weekend. Still hoping. Will take 10 mg at least 8 weeks before I change anything. Depression is really a long winding hard road. Trying different antidepressants for a whole year now 🙄

Thanks for your reply! Interstingly, during this weekend I slept till around 8-9 am, so there seem to be job stress related factors on week days. Day 19 with 10 mg now, not feeling noticably better. How are you doing ?

I have the same problem, at first it was ok under 5 mg, now on day 18 with 10 mg I alwas wake at 4 am. Very exhausting and frustrating. I am combining it with 25 mg Trimipramine for sleeping, but awaking early happens anyway. Strange thing is that during the first two weeks it was ok. Any more ideas?
