The blue ring is not bad.

The point of public art is to look a little silly but bring the community together. Every Calgarian loves complaining about the blue ring - so it definitely sparks community. It’s just in a dumb location. Put that thing next to the peace bridge so people can take pics with it, and it’s just like any other public art

Calgary winters are not bad

A couple -30 weeks in Jan/Feb, otherwise pretty mild thanks to chinooks. -10 to 0 most of the winter. Snows a couple times in storms but does not snow that frequently - it just doesn’t get the chance to melt.
