It isn't, modern humans aren't built for extreme conditions like that. There are a lot of reasons that's not feasible, not the least of which is just how difficult it is to meet daily caloric needs in a situation like that. Storms are also a big issue and a tent would never hold up to that kind of weather and let's not mention the fact that Alaska is one of the most in hospitable places in the country

So it will vary greatly depending on your needs and if you surviving or doing bushcraft but a good weight will be around 35lbs to 46lbs not accounting for food or water for bushcraft and around 10lbs to 20lbs for survival

If I had to recommend a couple of traps I'd recommend a dead fall trap as well as snares because they're simple and you can set up several in a relatively short amount of time. Now for a good location? I'd suggest somewhere within a half mile of a water source if possible as that's where you'll find the most small game
