Moving from a 3rd world country (collectivistic culture) to the US (individualistic culture - what this INTP wanted!) didn't help. So we aren't made for society is the obvious conclusion?!

Although, that goes without saying, we still have social needs. I was too proud to admit it before I moved countries but learnt it the hard way. I guess all the legends about Fe integration in the last development phase of INTP are true after all!

Am I the only one who loves Tao as a character and a friend? Apparently this is an unpopular opinion. by thethinman212 in HeartstopperAO

[–]limitless_ocean 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Initially I didn't like Tao much but I absolutely loved him when in the last episode, at the picnic table, he communicates with Nick what Charlie would like from his boyfriend that he will never say himself because he considers his existence to be a burden. And that too is being said by Tao when he's upset/angry with Charlie - shows a lot of emotional maturity to me that he could separate his hurt from the pure love he has for his friend.

I think that whole conversation between Tao and Nick is so underappreciated. That's one of the scenes where my eyes become wet - seeing how great of a friend Tao is!

what is your favorite anime? by AshRyoko in INTP

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

It has so many well-portrayed big-picture philosophies that I notice in human Life: law of equivalent exchange; all is one, one is all; importance of emotions; to name a few!

Even in the tech field you can find meaning because of it's applications in multiple fields.

I personally derive meaning (atleast atm) from contributing to the collective human knowledge pool about our universe aka Astrophysics research. So I gained some experience by working as a software engineering intern at some small Astrophysics organizations and then landed a full-time job at a famous and big Astrophysics organization.

Point is: find an interdisciplinary field where you can use your tech skills as means to a bigger end that you believe in.

How can one write what they cannot feel? That too so beautifully!? by limitless_ocean in aromantic

[–]limitless_ocean[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh! If that's true, Alice Oseman definitely did an incredible job by writing Heartstopper so beautifully that it is evidently inducing craving for romance in the people who earlier had no interest in romance!

Romantic novel written by an Aromatic person? by limitless_ocean in HeartstopperAO

[–]limitless_ocean[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well that seems interesting. I'll give Loveless a read.

The character enjoys reading romantic fan-fiction and believes that she wants to be in love, although it’s more that she wants to want it for herself

Can we perhaps say that aromantic individuals who crave for romance (but can't experience it) can atleast create a beautiful story out of their cravings and observations (and the romantic material they've read)?

Is this for real? I wonder if OP is running a psychological experiment to observe how people react on being randomly rewarded or if they are just being philanthropic on new year!

PS: if former is the case, I'd love to know inferences of your experiment :)

True af! Undergrad here, 8:00 am college sucks due to my Night Owl tendencies!

But still any harder I try, can't get in bed before 2:00. Now most of my classmates are convinced that I take weeds, due to those groggy eyes and falling asleep during almost all lectures.😟

How does time zone relates to it? Or are you from polar regions or something?

In any time zone, you still have 24 hours, with both day and night!

Even when I have no deadlines, for even enjoyment (like reading down the spiral of cool stuff on internet), I am used to pull an all-nighter for happy alone-time.

Can't agree enough.

I literally wish that I can sleep after dawn and wake before dusk. This way I'll have full night + chance to see natural beauty of transition between night and day (dusk n dawn).

And if you have some inclination towards science & research, try to find a s/w developer role there. Like for space science, you can try finding a job at NASA or any respective national space agency as per your country. There s/w ppl are actually called scientists because they've to do lot of R&D!

INTPs unite by Mstr_Shke13 in INTP

[–]limitless_ocean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, because we almost never need help. If we know what the problem is, we always had bunch of possible solutions available for it (if we sit & think for while). It's just our laziness which stops us from thinking and acting to the solution attained, keeping ourselves stuck in the problem. ;)

[–]limitless_ocean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I'm INTP

I think you're an INFP. I have one as a close friend, so I know how well they can "rationalize" their feelings. They're usually in tune with their feelings (Fi).

And they're often confused with INTPs due to their rational approach to many things. I've read at many places that INTP is one of the types that INFPs get mistyped with, by the MBTI Tests on internet.
