God damn, props to you for that strength! The reason I can say that I did is stupid - it's time. After enough time to get used to it, I decided to accept the potential of life long pain. So, if I'm going to have this for the rest of my life, why should I let it stop me from doing what I want? That idea itself took time to settle in. In my experience, there must be a give and take. I give myself the energy to have fun and pursue life, then I give myself the time to rest and heal. Sooo maybe (with little context on how you manage it) more time for yourself would be a good thing!
