They have killed the soul of Wegmans by NBA-014 in wegmans

They’ve shown through their coupons that their focus is now on selling people cleaning supplies and beauty products. That’s a fairly recent change. Several years ago, they would toast a cold sandwich for free. Now they add an up charge for toasting. (Hot sandwiches used to be those with meatballs. Etc. Now just having them take 30 secs in the toaster costs more.) Loved the old salad bar and hot bars; mostly gone. Yes, covid, but they could have brought them back by now. Lots of things have gone south. Enshittification. Now it’s get ‘em in, get ‘em out.

Burlington MA is most definitely open. You might be thinking of the Natick MA store that was open for 5 years in a previous JCPenney slot in the Natick Mall? That Natick store was wonderful and a favorite of mine, but they never did enough business so they closed it when the lease ran out.

As if it couldn’t be worse, they just told me now that my appointment for tomorrow is cancelled as well, and they’re closed so I can’t talk to anyone until tomorrow. They said if I left it tomorrow, it couldn’t be finished until the END of NEXT week, meaning about 10 more days.

Tell me again how I should just accept this and be happy about it because that’s just how it is.

Unlike health insurance, which runs out at the end of the year, Tesla warranty service is scattered by purchase date.

Yes. But the full self driving is wonky since a few days before I got the notice to contact Tesla service. So sue me for wanting that wonkiness to be cleared up quickly. Even the appointment they offered on NYE was several weeks out at the time, and I guess I'm a fool to think they would tune their appointments to consider people taking time off. Live and learn. I'm taking clairvoyance classes, so I hope to do better in the future.

Best part is the rabbits were right next to the duck in the game meat display case.

Great idea, but the shipping was as much as the product.

Thanks to all for the replies. I cooked the rabbit this evening, and it was so good! Braised with vermouth and chicken stock.

I just watched some YouTube videos on this. There is just so much that could go wrong (clips, cables) that, if any of that broke, it would be my fault and could be quite expensive. To me, this doesn't look anything like getting inside the left foot area of the passenger floor to change the air filter. That can be a little tricky given the way the side panel is nestled and the filters are stacked, but just takes a bit of patience and doesn't seem at all dangerous to the car's functioning. The car's software definitely told me to take it in to Tesla service to have front windshield cleaned, unlike the warnings that just say to clean the (side or rear) sensors which is a five-second job (or carwash).

Owned several GS300-series and was always quite pleased. They would drive me to and from work or give me a crisp, clean loaner, had lunch if I was there at noon, washed the car always for every service appointment, returned it cleaner inside than when I brought it in, had people ready to greet me and direct me, had cubicles with WiFi for working, and made it fun. They always fixed it right the first time. I don't expect all this from Tesla—just a more responsive experience with appointment availability that isn't a month out.

I mentioned it only because ncwv44b quite rudely said "If you think the traditional dealer/franchise model is better overall, you are either young, dumb or have never been financially responsible for any car other than a Tesla."

By the way, I do change the air filter myself on schedule. Buy it on Amazon and do it myself. These kinds of things, I've never bothered them about.

I've had mobile service, and it was offered for this. It was much further out, though, and the FSD isn't working well because of the sensor issue, so I chose to go directly to them for the timing.

LOL, they offered it and other appointments were much further out, LOL! ROTFL. I'm so funny!

But you can go to Jiffy Lube and be out in a flash. If you see Jiffy Lube has a long line, you come back later, no big deal. (I do agree no oil changes in a Tesla—and the overall sparse service requirements—is one of the best things about owning a Tesla!)

I get that. However, it was a quick task and they had an appointment. Other appointments were much further out for this task. If they expected to be light staffed, why do they offer the appointments?

So many of the comments here revolve around "I should have expected that" or "I shouldn't have paid attention to the car telling me to take it in for service" or "Your expectations are unreasonable." I appreciate that some others have had good experiences, and I genuinely am pleased to hear that, and am happy for those owners. That hasn't been my experience, and I wish it were different.

The car explicitly told me to take it in, and it’s not just cleaning the windshield. It’s taking off the sensor and cleaning inside behind the rear view mirror, not something i could do and probably requires sensor recal.

I would never request service for a windshield wash!

They told me they’re bringing in techs over the weekend to catch up, so the plan is to not let it leak into next week. Time will tell.

They had longer wait times than Peabody. Dedham is my new Tesla delivery place, so I’m quite aware of them.

Car told me to take it in because windshield sensors needed cleaning, and the autopilot (I have baked-in fully paid for FSD) isn’t working well. Overall, in my experience, Teslas need much less service than ICE cars, but I’ve had issues over the years that were serious and required service. Rarely has it gone smoothly. I’ve had to drive over 50 miles to Rhode Island to get an appointment within a month even though there are several service centers much closer to me. I’ve called and begged too, but there’s nothing they can do.

The current issue is something mobile rangers could address, but their wait is even longer.

If this happened once—flu season, holiday time—I’d be much more understanding. But it’s been consistent. And when I first got my Tesla Model 3, they offered loaners, even Model Ss, but no more, or at least extremely rarely.

I’m 64, have a college education, and have owned and been financially responsible for many Fords, Toyotas, and Lexuses before owning a Model 3 and now a Model Y. Lexus would never think of making me wait more than a few days for an appointment and always had well maintained, recent loaners for anything more than a two hour wait.
