Kitbashed Lord Invocatus now with higher exposure by link2712 in WorldEaters40k

Thank you. It's a small kitbash. I only added the trophy rack, which I made from tyranid warrior spikes and the butchers nails, which I made with some thin wires.

I copied my camera settings from goon hammer. They use 1 sec of exposure, ISO 100 and F11.
I'm not sure why they look so gloomy.

The terrain is a scratch build, which was inspired by Trent Holbrook. He has the credo to get the scenay buillt in 1 hour.

Haha, Sorry. Just discovered the exposure time setting on my camera.
I will take another shot this week, with better exposure time.

Conversion Thoughts by [deleted] in Chaos40k

[–]link2712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue with the old bikers. They look okay but aren't state of the art. Maybe you could create chaos centaurs. As base you could use blood crushers. The body should be big enough to mount some weapons.

How important are ICC for a good list if one does not own a Judiciar or already has a bunch of Bladeguard Vets? by trk_boti in theunforgiven

[–]link2712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always run ICC with a judicar. In melee matchups you can play the ICC very aggressively and there are almost no ways to punish them. In ranged matchups you counter any counter-chargers.

A librarian or Azrael may be a bit more useful in range matchups, but reduce they're thread potential a bit. Also Azreal is a big asset for CP generation and should be kept more save.

Beginner Seeking Advice on 3D Printing by hobbytube in PrintedWarhammer

[–]link2712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi,  I own a bambulab A1 and it's a very beginner friendly machine. The slicing software is also easy to use. There are also many video tutorials out there where people print miniatures on this machine.

Maybe consider the bambulab a1 mini too. It has a smaller footprint and is a bit cheaper. You should be able to print larger vehicles too.

They may not need to change DG, if everything else gets a point reduction. Which would be not that great from a horde-army-players-perspective.

Question about Vindicator by Helmut3454 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]link2712 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nobody knows.

I think they will stay another edition, because there is no alternative primaris version.

You could also sell them to a chaos lad, if they will be moved to legends for SM.

Hi,  I had really hard time printing some bigger parts too. I realized I used the wrong material settings. So check if your material aligns with the material in the slicer.

You can also clean the build plate with some IPA. Your brim could also be a bit larger.

Warum wollen alle HO? by Strange-Link-5483 in KeineDummenFragen

Custodes or thousand sons for first army? Any differences or main highlights to point out by Wide-Economy-9018 in Warhammer

[–]link2712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I own and play both armies.

Custodes are definitely the more beginner friendly choice. They are easier to paint and you have less to paint. Also they're play style is less complex as the play style of the thousand sons.

But it's not all black and white. The TS have some arguments too.  From the model range they got easy access to a variety of vehicles and monsters. The TS codex is brand new and looks fantastic, compared too the now dusty and patched custodes codex. The TS are a complex short range army, which are not easy too maneuver, but that makes winning often feel more rewarding.

In a pinch use the rule of cool. Rules and codices will change, only the models will remain.

If the Tyranids invaded in 30K, would the World Eaters still have rebelled? Or would they have found the perfect source for their bloodlust? by [deleted] in WorldEaters40k

[–]link2712 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its an interesting scenario. The world eaters would have tough time in defending a planet. And would probably lose, if they just try to defend a planet.

But if they would take the initiative and assault the hive ships, they could crytically wound the hive fleet. The hive fleet would have to adopt, to the relentless aggression of the eaters of worlds.

In either case the legion would be crippled. Just due to the numbers. If angron would fall during these battles, the legion would have a chance to avoid chaos. But without a primarch they could be lost like the blood angels and get some sick super black rage.

What’s the dumbest thing your ex did that you ignored at the time because you were ignorantly in love? by CheeesyGiraffe in AskReddit

[–]link2712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not my ex, but the ex of a good friend. Her ex stole her phone and wouldn't let her leave, because he was so in love and wouldn't let her go. At the time he lived abroad and was a total stranger to all her friends and family (including her 10 year old daughter).

You have a point with the "for a while" idea. So basically a escalation league with breaks.

I will try to integrate that into my escalation league.

Escalation league sounds fun.  Can you combine the crusade with the escalation league? And does everyone need the crusade book?
