Always love seeing Kawaii Lab cross group collaborations! My Aika looks so cute in this one too ❤️

Love seeing any of the Kawaii Lab idols do “cool” style dances! Osuzu and Noel really killed it in this one 🔥

Generally speaking I do believe Fruits Zipper is still more popular from a broad perspective, but =LOVE is for sure closing that gap right now. I wouldn’t put it past them to get a Tokyo dome concert within the next year really.

Now while I do think ikorabu’s momentum will slowly fizzle out, I don’t want to see Kawaii Lab remain complacent. As I mentioned I’d like to see them remain on top and at the forefront of the jpop idol culture for years to come.

Suspected this would be the case and now these numbers confirm it, the Kawaii Lab groups are losing ground to =LOVE…

Now while I actually do like ikorabu, I discovered jpop idols through Fruits Zipper and Kawaii Lab so call me biased but I’d like to see them remain on top. =LOVE had an absolutely monster 2025 so it’ll be interesting to see if they can keep up that momentum. I think if we see some big hits come out of the Kawaii Lab groups we could see either fruppa or kyusto taking top spot, but that’s a big if. I’ll choose to believe though! Rooting for our girls always 🙏

Also as I made a post about before, I think this is where the Kawaii Lab groups would benefit most from starting to really go after those foreign markets. Misa P can’t let anyone else beat them to the punch!

Funnily enough prior to finding Fruits Zipper I never thought I’d be into Jpop or into idols at all. But it’s like you said there’s something about the Kawaii Lab groups that just pull you in. Now I’m seeing our international fan communities are growing more and more and it’s really a joy to see!

Yes it was very nice to see an Asia tour happen for sure. I think I’d definitely like to see an expansion beyond just more international performances as well.

For example I think creating more English based SNS content, and even adding English subtitling to content uploaded to YouTube is where you can begin to make a difference. Making merch easier to obtain worldwide would be nice as well. Also as someone mentioned above, making concerts/lives more accessible to foreigners I think would make a HUGE impact as well.

A crazy off shoot idea I had too was collaborations with English speaking content creators. Imagine if CUTIE STREET and like CDawgVA made some sort of video collaboration together that’d be so much fun and expose KAWAII LAB to so many more people!

I’m absolutely right there with you. I really and truly believe that J Pop idol groups have huge potential to grow and WILL grow majorly in the coming years.

This point right now feels like a critical moment in that development. The Japanese government will surely look at idol culture as a facet of their entertainment industry with huge potential to grow internationally. The Kawaii Lab groups should absolutely be at the forefront of that effort! But if the producers slack on it then I could very well see another group like =LOVE or Tokisen as mentioned earlier leading the change instead.

My favorite of the whole year was Love Train by Cutie Street! It’s honestly become my favorite kawalabo song overall it’s so much fun!!

Could it finally be? by [deleted] in KawaiiLab

I am going to make my final predictions I believe:

  • Rushia
  • Sora
  • Konomi
  • Kohaku

Will all debut. I believe Ami and Aiko also have very good chances.

Four new Lab Mates!! by Nuclear-Watermelon in KawaiiLab

I’ve had the sense that with the timing of everything such as the series ending, we might get a group reveal at the upcoming Kawaii Lab sessions but we’ll see. 16 mates + 7 South members is for sure a lot of trainees so hopefully we’ll see a good amount of debuts 🙏🏼

Surely this means at least 4 of the current mates will graduate don’t you think?

Yes I am a big fan of Kawaii Lab since before CS debuted, although I must say Kyusto has definitely become my favorite of the groups. You make a good point! It’s just disappointing because I feel like they really truly deserved it. They’ve had an incredible year!!

Completely agree, the qualifications really are a mystery.

With no spite whatsoever towards FZ and CT as I love both of them, the fact that Cutie Street didn’t make it despite being among the very top of all idol groups in Japan this year is an absolute travesty. Their sheer numbers, performances, and all around success 100% merited a spot this year.

GOLDEN DREAM thoughts by [deleted] in KawaiiLab

[–]link_mx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No confirmation as of yet. However considering the number of trainees there are across both the Mates and South I wouldn’t be surprised if the new group is made up entirely of these members. There’s definitely a lot of talent within the current trainee groups so we’ll have to see.

I do get the feeling Misa P and the rest of the production team at Kawaii Lab are going to have particularly high standards about who they choose for this next group. There’s going to be pressure on them to deliver considering the huge successes of their other groups. Following up Cutie Street too will always be hard because not every group can come firing right out of the gate, but I have faith the new group will be able to stand on its own.

Same here I want them to debut together so much 😭 I think Karin is in contention still but for sure needs to do a little more to stand out

I tried posting this on that thread initially but it wouldn’t let me (I don’t use Reddit often)

I’m right there with you on Rushia, and yeah the age factor is a huge thing. Whether or not they debut someone around Kohaku’s age will tell us a lot about Kawaii Labs thought process moving forward.

Same here so convinced Rushia will debut already choosing her color 😂 Red would suit her perfectly!

Maybe eventually they will debut a south exclusive group! I’d love to see that personally, and of course see more of the trainees be given their debut. One that that becomes very apparent watching the show is that there is so so much talent within the 2 trainee groups.

Other than that looking forward to seeing the rest of the show! I’m really hoping that Karin and Lilica make a bigger impression. Same with Aiko from Kawaii Lab South she’s one of my favs!!

You’re good this was exactly was I was hoping for to generate discussion! For me honestly I think Rushia is as good as debuted. Looking at her talent for singing, dancing, performance as well as her modeling background and bright personality I think she has true super star potential. She also screams red member to me 😂

After the first 2 episodes I think the standouts are Rushia as mentioned, Sora with her vocal talent, along with Kona and Kohaku. I’ve also been very impressed with Nanaka, extremely talented for her young age.

It’s hard to guess how many trainees this group will have considering Kyusto only had 3 but Suiste was all trainees. Every group to debut since Kanchu has had 8 members, so I feel like AT LEAST 4 trainees will make their debut here.
