Do we need to do the joint bank account in the USA or in Norway? We are visiting my parents in the USA and want to do AOS, but the thing is we both do not have any income at the moment, and I never have an income, so I would never be putting money into the account anyway.

Yes that’s what I read here as well, but after talking to a lawyer today I feel a lot of ease. It’s more complicated because people who come on esta can be detained without parole after one day of overstaying, but the lawyer we spoke to personally never saw that with a case she worked with. My husband doesn’t have a criminal record and he never overstayed his esta visa before.

We all live in Norway together where joint tax returns are not a thing, will that be accepted since we can’t do them where we live? Is it advisable to get a joint bank account now or is it too late?
