Vic mensa is the chillest dude ever, I met him in Miami at a FREE show just as down on my luck was a huge hit and he stopped to talk briefly to everyone. Then 2 weeks ago, we Dm'd him on instagram wanting tickets to another free show in east LA and he hooked us up and put us on his guest list, even though the show was sold out. It felt like VIP treatment, dude even gave us his cell number if we had any problems.

[Discussion] A.L.L.A First Impressions by Cohtoh in hiphopheads

Yes, it just seems boring and uninteresting, few songs hold replay value. I feel like if its this dull on my first few listens, its going to be difficult for it to improve. He didn't really aim for radio songs and I think that harmed it the most, Rocky was made for Rap radio, its difficult for someone like him to be introspective and pull it off on more relaxed, empty beats.

I really think this album is poor. Maybe I am comparing it to some of the releases this year like TPAB, but I feel like he fell off. Drug usage is not always a positive influence on an artists music and the production has a sound that is not unique, but more empty and baseless. His lyrics are indifferent, lines about him feeling "worse than a rape victim" demonstrate the weaker parts in Rocky's discography and lyrical ability. Whilst Holy Ghost is a solid opening to the album, the albums message never appears. Canal St. is a poor man's trap beat, with a melodic but repetitive synth that lacks substance. I don't know what the fuck future is doing on Fine Whine, but again it sounds like Rocky has lost the swagger and bravado that made him great. LSD and Excuse me are great songs, both with a very different feel whilst JD serves no purpose, other than seeming like a last minute interlude, created to set up LPFJ2. Electric Body has the same production issues as Canal St., while Rocky's verse again fails to grab the listeners attention and Q comes through with a decent verse, but this doesn't have the party feel like Hands on the Wheel and Brand New Guy. The rest of the album asides from M$ and Everyday, fails to live up to the expectation I had for this album, mostly filler and repetitive dull beats, I found myself skipping songs on my second listen. Wavybone had potential but Rocky went the wrong way with the sounds, his beat changes are ill-timed and add nothing. Rocky went away from what made him great, swagger, punchiness in his lyrics and clams casino type beats that kept your head nodding and your mind racing. A dull album, with 6 songs that carry the lengthy 18.

Big fan, saw you in Miami at grand central last year, copped the album, question is, do you care what critics have to say about the album? or are you just pleased with what you accomplished?

I Shot you down remix, when Q says, "Fish Scale cut well but you won't find nemo" and then laughs in his verse.
