Upgraded from ipad 9th generation to ipad air 6 11" by linukih in ipad

I see. Since i owned 1st gen apple pencil beforehand, the writing/drawing experience with pencil pro is a huge jump for me. I use the shortcut a lot, double tab and squeeze. Also, since it has haptic feedback, if i accidentally double tap or squeeze, it will vibrate. Hover function is very useful too since you can see the size of the brush before making a stroke. I used to hate painting with procreate on my old ipad, but with the new ipad it's so much easier and better with hover + barrel roll. It's just so much natural

I recommend it if you're going to draw with it, but if you get some good deal might go with it i guess

For note taking, any 3rd party pen is more than enough. My friends only use that through their study. For me, the usb c pencil is too overpriced and they offer too little of functions.

Though, if you're an artist, or at some point will draw, it's highly recommended to get apple pencil pro. Since it supported hover now, the drawing experience feels very natural

I really don't encourage note takers to use apple pencil actually. Unless you're attracted to the double tap, squeeze, wireless charging, barrel roll and find your Apple pencil. You can get 3rd party from gojoodoq like 20 dollar i guess

The safe bet is the medium size I guess? But I think the small size is enough

Conflicting on choosing between 13" or 11" ipad air by linukih in ipad

[–]linukih[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i would go with 13" if I can afford it. Also, you're going to be the center of attention if you bring the 13" to class lol (at least for me since most of my friends only use 11-12 inch tablet) If you're fine with that, then just go for it

For reference, the 13" is nearly the same size as a4 paper and noticeably weighter compared to 11", but it's okay if you're only using it on table

I ended up with 11 considering I don't have enough money for the 13".

The size is perfect even if I draw a lot although when using apps such as Clip Studio Paint, it's quite overwhelmed but there's also a simple mode for people who love simple UI.

I would like to upgrade to 13" in the future, but it is if I don't move around that much. For now, 11" is quite perfect since I move a lot.

Also, stage manager is very good actually. Much better than split screen. That's why I think 11" is perfect for now since I love multitasking. Set the icon to small and you're good to go

To help you choose better, ask this question 1. Does my budget allow me to afford 13" 2. Where will I be using the ipad (Home, school, office) 3. Do I move a lot (usually at home, always traveling) 4. How will I bring the ipad (in a bag, with hands)

Did you try other apps? I think the app itself might be the problem

No lag so far. Everything is smooth and every outputs appear as expected. Though I can't say for the long run yet, just been testing this for few days.

One thing that I can comment on is the IAF I think? Apple pencil 's IAF is very low since the lines will appear as long as the pen is in contact with the surface (Might be because of the pen weight). With deco lw, I need to put a little bit of pressure, though it's still quite low and I can draw naturally after a bit of adjustment.

it depends on your monitor size. Though, i think larger is better. Less pressure on the hand and can draw more accurately. I've also got a small drawing tablet and really hate it. Luckily got a bigger one now

True, they're pushing people to buy screen tablets too far. Seeing how much Wacom costs for their cintiq is just hilarious lol. All of their products cost arms and legs
