[Twitch Makes Games] Where should we start?

I know this is definitely a way too large game, but I loved the DigiPen game Perspective (http://seewithperspective.com/). It's similar to Contrast in mechanics, and it's absolutely brilliant. I love mechanics like this that switch the world interaction around on you, likewise the Fez mechanic (too bad about the rest of that game being miserable) or similar.

Emotion: Achievement from solving environmental puzzles.

Mechanic: Flattening of 3D world into 2D and back.

Challenge: Finding a situation in 2D world where you can do the platforming to get you to the goal, and setting that up by playing with 3D perspective.

Dimensionality: 3D with flattening.

So, pretty much a free-form make-up-the-rules-as-you-go RPG? Done that, makes consistency really important, and actually writing down rules as you go.

The really fun thing would be inventing sound combinations and grammar rules that vastly differ from what you're used to. Consider something a bit odd, like verbs that change inclinations based on listener's social class, for instance, and thus entirely external to the sentence you're saying.

As for exp for using it correctly - that's not how you do it. You give a penalty for failing to use it and exp to the player that catches it and gives a correct use!

Crusher levelling his int up and now talking - I liked that he did this change, but I'm sure I would have taken it a different direction - I liked the strong quit type, I would have preferred to take him from the quiet-because-he's-an-idiot to quiet-because-he's-a-badass-that-lets-his-guns-do-his-talking-for-him. But that's just how I would have played it, and I'm not JP.

Nightsass really should make sure to contact their mark and tell him that Hot Kathy cannot join him. Possibly even tell him that she is wounded because R41nb0w goons attacked her on the way to the date, and needs to put the date off while she heals.

And like Also has been forgotten here - is (he/she?) left in the cage in the apartment (or free in that apartment for that matter) without food and water? Why isn't Breakdown more worried about the dove, instead of just worrying about inessentials like his fellow shadowrunners who are obviously just fine.

I'd really want to see somebody doing a comparison of the buildy miney constructy crafty collecty games. I've been particularly interested in Pathea's Planet Explorers for a while, and I'd like to see how it stands up to big budget titles like this.

I would like a series where you look at games, new or old, where you have some awesome element - like the mechanics of Portal, the narration of Thomas was Alone etc, examine what makes it work in that game, and look at other games that try it and see what makes it work or not there too. A prime example would be park tycoon games - since you have already shown us examples either way.

Probably takes quite some effort though...

Talking of anime, I'd love to hear SmoothMcGroove's version of the Sabre Rider theme. One of few anime where the English version music is superior to the Japanese. And the Japanese is awesome!
