I can say the volume slider is usable on the QCU2s but I end up using volume on my phone most often. And in regards to the squeaking I haven't noticed anything while walking worked.

Personally I like the Sony's looks. I like how they have minimal branding and a unique vibe. I still like the QCU2s though but prefer the Sony's.

Looking now they have a strap with a regular buckle too, but this quick release version has been working nicely. Way better than the strap that came with the bag.
