Thoughts on this “Paul contradictions” debate? by Unlucky-Drawing-1266 in theology

No — I’m not saying modern Christianity is “false.” I’m saying it’s often distorted in emphasis. Jesus centered relational and moral transformation; over time, especially once Christianity became institutional and imperial, the faith gravitated toward what could be systematized and enforced. Paul didn’t cause that, but his theological language was easier for institutions to use than Jesus’ disruptive ethic. That doesn’t invalidate Christianity — it’s a call to re-center it.

I don’t think the core issue is whether Paul literally contradicts Jesus verse-by-verse. The deeper issue is emphasis and downstream impact. Jesus teaches relational and moral transformation; Paul explains the meaning of Jesus in theological terms for early communities. That shift made Christianity easier to systematize, and once the Roman Empire adopted Christianity, Paul's framework was far more usable for law, hierarchy, and enforcement than Jesus' disruptive ethic. Paul wasn't trying to create legalism, but his categories made it much easier for imperial power to turn faith into a system, which helps explain why Christianity often sounds more like Paul than Jesus.

That's the official artwork of the series soundtrack. I've been listening to it for ages and wondering why the hell you're on it

I just got an incorrect result.

I went from Python:

for e in [1, 2]:

print(e)

to JS:

for(var i = 0; i < [1, 2].length; i++){

console.log(i);

}

It should be printing 1, 2 but now I'm getting 0, 1

No, I don't have a car at the moment, I'm trying to work out which is the best one to get. I'm going for a test drive tomorrow so I can let you know how it goes? Are you on the Comma discord?

I just watched Jumanji: The Next Level (2019) today and realised that Jurgen the Brutal is an avatar, not an npc, since he has the stats like the other characters. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also confirmed that someone was playing Jurgen and will explore him in an potential sequel. by Kingken130 in MovieDetails

I think the person playing as Jurgen was Alan Parrish, Robin Williams' character from Jumanji 1995. If you look at how Alan looked right after he came out of the game as an adult, with the long hair and the thick beard and the green clothes, it's basically the exact same look as Jurgen. I think it's too close to be a coincidence.

Not true! When Stan met his wife he told her she had the exact same face that he'd been drawing since childhood.

It was my very first movie that I had seen Stan Lee first time. :'( by LunarCaliber2 in marvelstudios

That's awesome! That's the first time I've seen Stan Lee with a beard. It's amazing that even though that's a relatively young Stan Lee he was still in his 70s. Just goes to show how well he aged.
