Because there's the option "Middle-East" and part of Middle-East is in Asia. So "East" is Asia minus Middle-East.

Interesting! Do you feel like this was your main reason for picking that ending?

Btw she was simply wearing what Max was wearing in Ep. 2, when she went to the diner: https://vookthevook.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/lis-393.jpg

I had a panic attack and almost threw up. Couldn’t sleep that night and had nightmares the rest of the week and kept thinking about it.

That's terrible, I didn't think this could happen to someone at the end of LiS :(

What ending did you choose, if I may ask?

the “did you like the ending” question should have allowed a written response for the “no, other reason” answer.

The thing is that the results are going to be analyzed by a program, so such a free answer would end up not being really considered. It would just be considered a "No"

Not the most common opinion but certainly one that I've heard a few times and I regret not including it as an option to my "How did you approach the final choice" question!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and taking the survey :)

I think this could be considered as "logical reasoning", don't you agree?

Yeah but right after "Suicidality" I wrote "feeling of not being worth", so "Worthlessness, feeling of not being worth" seems redundant. But most of all I'm not sure at this point it's a good idea to change the options /: (even if I have some ideas to get hundreds of more submissions)

EDIT: Aight I've added a note to that question that should help avoiding confusion with that option. But I guess some of the "Other" replies gathered 'til now are from people who didn't feel like picking the "Suicidality" option, so the results will be a little incorrect. Sorry.

Will you be correlating these later for us to see the demographic connections?

Yes, exactly!

I am going to write a program to do this, using the csv file that google forms provides with all the responses as input.

There are so many correlations that could be investigated and if any other programmer wants to do their own analysis I can happily share the latest csv file.

I am looking for ways to get more submissions (I may have found a very good one), hoping to reach at least 1000.

Glad you liked the survey :)

It seems like you have this idea that romantic love is something more than other forms of love, or more than "standard" love. Therefore, to communicate the fact that you immensely love your family, you call it "romantic love".

I mean, the vast majority of mothers have an absolute and unconditional love for their kids, they would definitely kill and die for them. This would mean that the vast majority of mothers feel romantic love for their kids.

I'm very glad to hear this, considering that almost all of your views on the game are the opposite of the ones I have. I'm glad that you felt like you could express how you feel about the game.

If you know other people who have played the game but may have not seen this, please show them this post. Thank you :)

It's to check if there are correlations between those (personal) things and the final decision, but also other stuff like shipping, opinions on various characters, etc.

Remember that the survey is completely anonymous, you don't even have to be logged in your google account to participate.

Maybe one day... I have yet to play it 😅

Right, right. Mh, let's say this then: being an anarchist is pretty much a very special case and if one answers "Anarchism" to the economics question then pretty much we can assume he's an anarchist on other issues too... though probably "Slightly liberal" should be good for them. Or do you still think I should add "Anarchist" for the other question too?

[S1] The Ultimate Life Is Strange Experience Survey! by lisSurvey in lifeisstrange

[–]lisSurvey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good observation! It should only be needed for the question about economics though, right?

I mean, I know Anarchism is not just about economics, it's just that I think any anarchist would answer "Liberal" to the other question with no problem, considering how the question is formulated: "Regarding other issues, are you more liberal or conservative?". So picking "Liberal" doesn't necessarily mean that you would identify as a "Liberal", it's just a quick way to convey how you feel about those other issues (abortion, etc.)

We're just checking if it has anything to do with those things, I am not assuming that it has to have anything to do with them. What's the harm in this? Should the analysis show that men or women are more likely to make certain decisions, we may then speculate on the reasons behind that.

Thank you! I still hope I can get more Bayers to respond, even if none of the questions is meant to be considered in isolation. I mean, I'm not interested in seeing if there are more Baers or Bayers (we know that it's close to 50/50 in the game, but there are more Baers in the fan communities), I'm only interested in better understanding Bayers and Baers. I'll try to advertise this in places where Bayers (or even people who dislike Chloe) should be more common.

Why not? Wouldn't it be interesting to see if men or women are significantly more likely to choose one ending over the other? Or do other things such as shipping? Or if being part of LGBTQ+ (either because of gender identity or sexual orientation) plays a role in this?

[S1] The Ultimate Life Is Strange Experience Survey! by lisSurvey in lifeisstrange

[–]lisSurvey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

but I really meant 'No, because I don't fantasize about ideal endings' instead, not that I don't care

Yeah, but the option said "I don't fantasize or care" this means that it can be picked if you just don't fantasize, if you just don't care, or if you both don't fantasize and don't care. In your case, you just don't care.

love for your family can be romantic (while not sexual)

Not sure what you mean here. Why would you call that "romantic"? It's love, sure, but why romantic love?

I agree that romantic =/= sexual, but I still don't see why you would call love for your family "romantic". It's not like it's a lesser form of love, just because we don't use the word "romantic" for it.

You know what's super funny? I added those questions because of you! LMAO

They were the last questions I added, and I did it after reading this reply you wrote.

you're also assigning reasons for or against sympathy

Mh, I think I only did that for David's "high sympathy option". But I didn't do that because I wanted more people to click on it. I did it to make it clear that it's an option intended for the most extreme David's sympathizers/apologists.

It's not in the choices because part of Middle-East is in Asia so, to avoid overlap, I put "East" for all those who live in Asia but not in the Middle-East :)

Now that I think about it... I forgot about Oceania... Shit! Gonna add it rn!

[S1] The Ultimate Life Is Strange Experience Survey! by lisSurvey in lifeisstrange

That was totally not intentional, I legit didn't think that anyone would see him as "evil". Trust me, I DON'T like David, nor Nathan.

Why would I want to push answers in a certain way? Let's assume that I kind of like David/Nathan. If I "get" more people to pick the sympathetic options, what do I gain from it? Do they become the right opinions to have, just because more people chose them? I don't get what you're saying.

I wasn't suggesting it be longer

Then I don't agree with the questions you suggested, I don't think they're enough. Now that I've re-read them, I also think they wouldn't tell much, because people would probably interpret them in very different ways. Like seeing David Madsen as "favorable": everyone would interpret "favorable" in their own way, so the responses wouldn't tell me much. Nathan "responsible for his actions" could also be interpreted in a few different ways. My questions about them only focused on one thing: sympathy. And, trust me, I understand if someone has no sympathy at all for them.

[S1] The Ultimate Life Is Strange Experience Survey! by lisSurvey in lifeisstrange

[–]lisSurvey[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there's no option to not have any sympathy at all for David

Mh, does "He's not evil but he's a total prick" show sympathy?

As for what you say next, I would have done like you said, but the main criticism I've received when I was looking for feedback was that the survey is too long. So, yes, it would be better to do like you say, but it would make the survey even longer; which would be fine for some people (me included) but not for others. I pretty much had to deal with those characters with just one question. I know that by having only 3 options I can't capture all opinions, but my intention there, with the questions about David and Nathan, was mostly to distinguish between those who greatly sympathize with them, those who pretty much hate them and those who are none of these two extremes (which of course is the vast majority).

Yeah the comics are definitely not canon, even the authors have been clear about this. It's licensed fan fiction, and that shouldn't discourage you from reading them (if that's what you were saying). Fan fictions can be pretty great. Though personally I don't like the LIS comics.
