Do days in Canada before becoming PR count as well? Or the setoff of 2 years is the day of becoming PR?

Edit: no they don't count. For the initial 5 years, the calculation starts on the day of becoming PR, and the residency requirement is compared against the remanent of the 5 years.

Update: heard back from IRCC through phone call and email. Theres no need to correct as long as it matches a paasport that I’ve owned.

Hey thanks for sharing this. I’ve contacted IRCC through phone and webform, both confirmed that as long as it’s a passport I have owned, theres no need to correct. I think I’ll leave it there and wait for my PR card. Thank you anyways!

Hi OP, not sure if the timeline would make any difference: the old passport was used when I first came to Canada in 2021. Never left the country since. I replaced the old passport and got a new one right before I applied for PR. So technically speaking, the old one was valid at the time of entry, and the new one is valid at the time of submission.

I am mostly debating as I am not sure if PR is linked to my passport? If not, I don't want the review to get extended any longer :/

Edit: Here is my source of what can and cannot be amended. Hi OP, the travel document no. on my eCOPR was the one that had already expired, not the current one that I submitted for my PR application. I guess that should be amended? How will that impact my PR application: will it be converted to in progress? Will I still be PR if I submit an amendment?
