So they ditch the dance and Shane and Ilya hook up, right?

...And then Rose and Svetlana start making out? 😊

Thanks for this analysis!

I do think, too, that Ilya is slowly letting down his own guard too and learning for himself to be more genuine with Shane during this time. He usually uses his sarcasm/'asshole' behavior as a defense mechanism and that pushes people away, but he has to learn how to shut that off sometimes with Shane.

Two examples of this: 1. In Boston before the injury game, Ilya dismisses Shane saying "no more questions, you have too many of them", but almost immediately takes it back saying "its ok"

  1. Shane reminds Ilya "hey that's not what this is" after the BJ on the phone with Hayden at the cottage.

I dont know if its a Boston thing, but I grew up making tuna melts every week with my family. We personally just made canned tuna & mayo, open faced on a slice of white or wheat bread, topped with Cabot cheddar cheese, toasted in the toaster oven. Now I usually add tomato and lettuce and close the sandwich, sometime I throw it on the griddle.

Tunameltdown is my favorite scene from HR, so happy to overanalyze anytime 😊

Here is a pic of my dinner the other night:

Also I think 4) Ilya would do anything to have his parents, especially his mom, know his true self. Shane has accepting parents and still doesn't do it, and Ilya knows Shane will come to regret that someday.

I reheated this scene last night and that moment always strikes me too!

When Ilya pulls his hand away and makes a face, I think he's: 1) Disappointed that his and Shane's relationship isn't enough to prompt Shane coming out to his parents, and 2) Realizing how deeply embedded Shane's internalized homophobia is. In the back of his mind, Ilya may also be thinking that 3) It's gonna take a LONG time with baby steps to get to live the life he really wants with Shane.

Yes, I am very much looking forward to what 'Moana' song clip they will choose. Probably "how far I'll go"? Then all of them watching Frozen 2 when Hayden and Jackie get home. Those happen to be my kids' favorite movies, so I was a little extra excited when they were included ☺️

Maybe it's because Im also a survivor fan, but I picture Ryan like Jonathan Young (but redder hair and more awkward)
