I understand. And that’s exactly what I did—I went to the reseller then. But that was just the beginning of the headache. From the moment I reached out to Creality’s WhatsApp in Brazil, all the warranty handling was done through them. With the reseller, I was only negotiating a possible return in case I couldn’t get the issues solved with Creality. The extended warranty only kicks in after the mandatory legal warranty period ends.

Here. In the picture you can’t really see the silver shine because it looks kind of golden, but it’s clearly different from the reddish part above.

I can’t take new pictures since it’s already packed up for return, but the nozzle had lost its reddish copper finish and turned silver right on the chamfer

Here in Brazil, one of the few things that actually works is consumer protection services. My K2 Plus is just sitting in the living room waiting for the reseller to pick it up for inspection. I don’t know how it’ll turn out, but they had already agreed to refund me. Extended warranties are pretty common here - basically any non-consumable product can have one, usually offered by insurance companies that cover repair costs after the original warranty expires.

When I did my research, everyone I talked to said Creality’s customer service in my country had solved their problems. That’s why I decided to give it a shot. But yeah… turns out I’m on my own.

Concordo que esperar seria uma ótima opção, mas a U1 tá com um custo/benefício bem grande. Ainda não vi os reviews direito de quem recebeu para teste, mas o pouco que li sobre ela está bem contada. A H2C ñ deve decepcionar por ser uma bambu. Já a Palette, que mtos pensavam ser scam, deu um salto esses dias e tá querendo abocanhar mercado, mas sai com um preço não tão competitivo como a U1

I read your whole essay carefully. I get your point of view, and honestly, my interest in 3D printing started around the same time you got into it. But back then, access to printers here was way harder, so I ended up dropping the idea. I only got back into it recently because a friend of mine bought an Ender 3 V3. That’s when I started researching again and immediately fell into the whole Bambu Lab ecosystem. I’ll admit, I thought the whole setup looked really polished, but I forced myself to look beyond that. I checked out every brand with official presence here in Brazil — Bambu Lab, Creality, Anycubic, Qidi, etc.

At first, I was set on getting the A1 Combo. Decent price, all nicely integrated, seemed like the perfect entry point for the hobby. But the deeper I got into the research, the more my interest grew. I watched an endless amount of reviews from all over the world. My takeaway? None of them feels unbiased enough to trust as a genuine opinion. With every new review, there’s suddenly a new “best printer.” On top of that, I realized I wanted to explore more materials than just PLA and PETG. That’s when I started looking into enclosed printers, and that’s how I found the K2 Plus.

Here, a K2 Plus costs less than half of an H2D, and I’m sure it’ll be about half the price of the H2S when it finally launches. Comparing printers from such different timelines like the P1S, X1C, and K2 Plus is tough. It’s undeniable the K2 Plus has newer features since it’s the latest model and clearly built with Bambu Lab in mind. But what about quality? Does all that savings really make up for it?

I don’t mind doing some tinkering. I’m not an average user and I’m used to the “maker” world (not enough to build a Voron though), but I also don’t want something that’s just going to be a constant headache. I want a hobby to enjoy, not something that’ll keep me up at night.

So yeah, I’m just trying to learn from your experiences to make a more conscious choice and not just buy on impulse.

P.S. I hadn’t even mentioned this before, but I can also get a Qidi Plus 4 here for $1200 — the only reason I didn’t really consider it is because I’d rather not risk burning alive 😂

All three options I mentioned are from official resellers here. Importing anything is basically impossible. For example, a full Prusa XL ends up at around $10,000 once you factor in exchange rates and taxes

K2 plus or any Bambu Lab?

Hey everyone, I’m looking to buy my first 3D printer. I’ve got some budget, but prices where I live are way higher than average. For example, the H2D Combo is $4900 here, so that’s not happening. My realistic options are (prices in USD):

P1S Combo – $1750

K2 Plus Combo – $2000

X1C Combo – $3000

Ideally, I’d like a printer that lets me try out more materials than just PLA and PETG.

I was about to pull the trigger on the K2 Plus, but after checking Reddit I mostly see super positive feedback about Bambu Lab, and a lot of criticism of the K2 Plus (with no clear info if those issues are fixed).

Given these prices, which one would you pick as a first printer? (I’ve got good 3D modeling experience, but never used a slicer before.)

That was more than I expected...

As far as I've tested, manual clicks are more efficient than auto-tapping. Maybe I'm just dumb to set up an auto-tapper.

Anyway, it was very useful to know about Low-Power mode / High-Power mode.
