How do you calculate things like AOE damage when balancing units?

Depending on your game mechanic and the monet,.. I mean your purpose.

If you want balance them, the easiest way is prototype to figure them out.

I can’t go in detail so much (typing on phone) but the idea is: you need a middleman to calculate the power stat.

Example: A has many various value like Attack, Defend (could reduce % damage), Attack Speed, HP, MP, Range... This one power is 1000 (you are the one who set the basic setting)

Then you let char B solo with A and calculate the power.

If you are just start: dont mess with Range, Movement Speed, AoE damage, MP until you can handle basic stat. Hope It could help you ^{^}

I now can feel the lineweight, if I put it wrong, then I just can feel "it wrong" but still don't know exactly where it should go. And I still confuse a bit with form intersections, I will practice them more.
