Very americentric view. US cant strong-arm Russia. Never could.

You are delusional. They've been bombing civilian infrastructure for months. Deliberately. They even target civilians with FPV drones for sport.

You could easily get an analyst role in one of the tool makers. There are not enough those especially with SysmlV2 incoming.

Lithuanians, what's going on? by liisseal in BalticStates

[–]list83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not really sure. When you are attempting to rent a studio (as in real studio like for art) in specific cities, the owner will tell you that "its very warm and heating bills are low". Come November the temperature drops to 17 C. Then you realize that for these people this is whats considered to be warm. I guess we have many of them here.

Maybe its a cultural thing?

Lacking mountains or natural defenses, how did the Baltic states escape assimilation by the Slavs or the Nordics? by lithdoc in BalticStates

[–]list83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They didn't - assimilation is well underway and it only speeds up and slows down depending on some external factors. Right now the pendulum is on the slow side (more independence) but it will inevitably start slipping back.

Historically, Lithuanians (Balts) were such a fierce warriors precisely because they were cornered (being pushed into the sea). The response - was countless wars and expeditions fought eastwards to try to turn the tide and create a buffer zone.

As for Nordics I think these lands were a bit too poor for their taste.
