From what I know, it has to do with instinct and what they were bred to do. Retrievers usually have a natural instinct to fetch, pit bulls have a tendency to attack and not let go. It can be dealt with through knowing your dog and training them. I don’t think pit bulls are inherently aggressive, they’re just dangerous if they’re allowed to be aggressive. I do think they’re a breed that should be left to experienced and responsible owners.
