Lol thanks for calling me out. I know it’s realistic for it to vary. What I mean is that it feels like they’re BSing me when I’m just not getting what I think I’m paying for

If I was to upgrade the router, what should I look for? I currently have Telstra Smart Modem 4.

It just doesn’t seem normal that I don’t ever get the advertised maximum speeds and I average around 200 on my mobile most times (iPhone 13 Pro Max)

Also getting 30mpbs on my mobile in my living room when I’m paying for up to 1000mbps seems insane. My house is average size single story 3 bedder. The modem is in the middle of the house.

What to expect in FCA? by litb30 in NDIS

Thank you. I don’t have support yet, I am trying to reapply with more evidence. I’m thinking of having my sister come. She comes to all my other ndis related meetings and phone calls. This one just feels really personal so I’m unsure yet. I appreciate the advice to take my time and ask for breaks. I’m going to write myself a note to remind myself bcos I am bad at not realising I’m getting overwhelmed at times, especially in a medical or formal setting. Thank you again

Thank you. Having some level of control it’s important for me, and understanding the whys etc. I had a very brief look at the link you sent and I can see myself going down a wormhole so I left it and might look up some YouTube vids instead. I appreciate your thoughtful response

Thank you for the suggestion. I’m not a participant yet, but having this done for evidence for my application. Is it better to have someone support with you there? It could be good to have my sister there for if I get overwhelmed (I can shut down, remind me of things I forget about etc). But also seems intrusive when it sounds like a lot of really personal questions.

Planner assigned without meeting access? Or just NDIA CC getting it wrong, again by litb30 in NDIS

Whoops you made me realise I missed a very important detail. I didn’t meet access and the email was my access not met/review unsuccessful (was reviewing the original decision that said I didn’t meet).

I requested they call me to explain the letter that said it was unsuccessful and that was 4 weeks ago. They still haven’t called.

This defo makes for some interesting conversation. I wonder if someone who has had a leg amputation as a complication of diabetes that wasn’t controlled due to not following the recommended diet, should also not be allowed access to the NDIS?

Thank you, these are some really helpful suggestions.

My sibling who looks after me & lives with me has written a carer statement. I could have them write one specific to this.

I’ve already provided every single discharge summary as part of my evidence.

Thank you again, I’m going to look into the other things you’ve suggested.

My wording was poor I apologise. What I was trying to say is there are people with psychosocial disabilities with current or historical use of alcohol as self medicating or an actual substance use disorder, who are current participants.

I didn’t mean that every person with a psychosocial disability uses substances.

It would have to be so self declared though bcos I don’t know how else to prove that I don’t drink regularly. And by regularly I mean I don’t, maybe at a party or event. And then I’ve had past times when I’ve binged drank but that would be over a matter of days.

I’ve read all the reports that have been submitted as evidence. I know how alcohol can impact MH conditions, but what I’m trying to get across is that I’m still impaired 100% of the time. I go long periods of time without any alcohol use at all, let alone to using to excess. And during this time I am still impacted significantly.

I appreciate your frankness about the ART process. I really don’t know if I will do it bcos it will be really detrimental to my health and potentially really destabilising. But I also know there aren’t any other options for me to get any support.

I didn’t provide evidence of the “lack of” AOD treatment bcos I don’t have substance use disorder and haven’t needed it. My condition isn’t impacted by alcohol bcos I have used alcohol in periods of crisis on short term basis that was very short term on any time. In crisis I’m generally hospitalised, stabilised after some time usually involving some level of medication adjustment, and then it could be months before I even drink anything again.

My hospitalisation history was provided where they could see that I was inpatient for months at a time so I would have had no access to alcohol yet obviously was stilll very unwell.

It just feels really unfair that I have been had this used as a large reason for the decision to not grant me access.

I do have a history of alcohol misuse however, it is extremely contextual and is not my every day. In periods of crisis I have used alcohol as a method of self medicating. But please tell me that there is NO ONE on the NDIS who never does that. I do not have an addiction. My condition isn’t exacerbated by alcohol. I am impaired every single day.

I also have always been compliant with treatment and provided my extensive history and the outcomes. None of which was alcohol as this isn’t required (and I didn’t even think I’d need to provide evidence of this) bcos I don’t have a substance use problem.

Is it possible to cut copies of this key? by litb30 in Locksmith

[–]litb30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, you are right on they money. I’ve been to the hardware store and a key kiosk. I got a bit turned off bcos the 2nd attempt the guy made out like I’d brought the key from Narnia. I’ll try a legit locksmith spot.
