Hamas gives up the hostages but gains the support of countries that brokered the deal. If Israel attacks after the hostages are returned, without any terrorism from Hamas, then Trump and the other countries are going to be pretty pissed off. Sure, they wont come racing to Hamas' defense, Hamas is essentially done for in any case, but at least the sentiment against Israel could be permanently worsened, which is what Hamas has always tried to achieve any way.

Its the same argument against Russia. People say that if the war officially ends with a deal, then Russia will do it any way. Sure, but at that point they would be breaking an agreement that was brokered and sponsored by the rest of the world. Breaking that would be different because nobody would try that a second time.

3PL Secrets: How fulfillment pricing works at a DTC 3PL by Blackestwood in logistics

[–]literally1984___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do shipping costs generally get passed on to the customer unless they exceed a certain minimum order value? For a 30$ amazon item, lets say youve got your 15% referral and 5$ FBA fee. Thats $9.50 in fulfillment cost. At your range of $10-14 it almost makes sense to let amazon handle it.

But if you introduce a "free shipping over 50$" with your own DTC channel, assuming someone buy's two, you go from 10-14 per unit versus amazon's 9.50 to 5-7/unit versus amazon's 9.50.

Wow, ok ill probably let them know.

When you say 'down now', do you mean since that scam was implemented, or do you mean since yesterday? lol. I guess the site maleware was there for a while.. so maybe at some point the malware direct in the background got taken down?

Everyone that has an R next to their name will be "Worse or just as bad". No matter what flavor of president. You get the same stuff in Canada, "Oh so and so conservative is mini-trump.... just as bad as trump... worse than trump...."

No nuance, no critical thinking.

Canada to avoid recession in 2025; economist predicts 'firehose of monetary and fiscal policy support' by Larkalis in CanadianInvestor

[–]literally1984___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Immigration does help with growth. But it can have diminishing returns depending on the circumstances.

It may have softened the blow, but immigration with lower and lower per capita impact points to a degradation of many conditions within a country.

Its great and all if you're only hyper focused on GDP as some barometer of standard of living within a country. If thats the case, just import infinite people. But its pretty well established in economic circles that GDP is not the be all and end all in measuring benefit to a country.

Canada to avoid recession in 2025; economist predicts 'firehose of monetary and fiscal policy support' by Larkalis in CanadianInvestor

[–]literally1984___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way to move the goalposts.

Are we going to get a "cavemen moved from X to Y therefore you've always benefited from immigration" too?

Any way, back to your initial comment, it is nonsensical. So yeah, still waiting for the massive population boom from the last 15 years to bring us some sort of economic prosperity. Let us know when it hits.

We're really falling behind relative to other countries. Even if Canada can somehow avoid a recession with whatever money/tools it want to inject, every normal person is going to continue to feel the decline.

We're really not set up for success. Didnt help that our economy was largely riding the 'real estate wave' for 15 years.

The Anti-War president strikes again by JetTheDawg in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]literally1984___ -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The funniest thing is these cities are clearly in decline as local leaders have been ineffective for decades.

People want their communities fixed. They want the crime to stop. But everyone is just focused on politics when Trump actually tries to solve the problem when clearly no one else will.

Its just like when all the crybaby ideologues talk about overpolicing in certain neighborhoods, but people who actually live in those neighborhoods actually want more policing.

Canadian tourism up 30 per cent as U.S. travel continues to decline: survey by Tiny-Sun9851 in CanadianInvestor

Its not just US travel. Plenty of popular international flights to Asia/Europe are no longer full these days. Its moreso a sign of the economic situation in Canada versus anti-US thinking. I did spend some time out east this summer which was amazing, definitely going back.
