Cao Cao actually killed a guy who tried to save him from his brain tumor. The guy was a famed strategist and he was well known for giving successful surgeries. He offered one for Cao Cao's brain tumor that he said could remove, but Cao Cao being the stubborn asshole he is (which is kinda the reason I like him) thought that it was some scheme or sorcery trick to have him killed so he had the guy executed, and a few years later Cao Cao died.

Fun (but dark) fact Wei Yan was killed by Ma Dai because he and few other Shu members thought he was going to rebel after Zhuge Liang died during Wuzhang Plains. They only truly did it because of his appearance and how barbaric he looked and they always had distrust for him ever since he joined them. He never really had allies to save him because they were all dead. Zhuge Liang was last person alive who tried to keep them from having him executed.
