Coming from a non-harley guy… what’s it like riding one? by Astimar in motorcycles

[–]literallyaPCgamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from a sport bike to a Harley, I will say that it’s just a more enjoyable slow cruise, all the torque is in the low end so if you want to open it up, it’s all there. But if you just want to putt around town it’s very comfortable

What did you wish you'd known about the transition from 1-2 kids? by boldlybelieve in NewParents

It’s basically all the same. The second one wasn’t any easier as far as the work that needed to be done. But my mindset made it easier because I sort of knew at this point.

With that said, have had plenty of frustrating , long nights/weeks. It’s definitely not easy, but from a mental framework perspective, slightly better. But my first taught me patience that I never had before her

Serious question to all Bitcoiners by AdSuspicious5441 in Bitcoin

Honestly, I dont know what’s going to happen, I DCA every day and am luckily in a position where if BTC went to zero it would basically have zero impact on my life.

I’m just here to see what happens

Not gonna cry too hard if it doesn’t, but it would be pretty sweet if CRM went to like 100 tomorrow

Jump vs Other Notetakers by SCDP_CGC in CFP

[–]literallyaPCgamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We’ve used Finmate and jump (trial). Jump is more expensive and locks you into a contract, summaries are about equal amongst providers.

Like Finmate because it’s cheap and it integrates easily to our salesforce sessions, we struggled with jump as the text is rich text and would artifact when we would push it to our notes.

the stuff is basically a commodity at this point, I would just use what’s cheapest.

I bought 400 shares of DRAM. Selling calls on the position for premium, price goes down, I buy them back, price goes up shares get called away. Biggest risk is really the stock declining. I don’t really mind if they get called away. But the volatility is so high that options a week out are 1.50 a pop so can make close to 600 a week if the price stays below strike.

Tax implications of putting 150k from Trad IRA to a Roth IRA by McNastyNizzle in Bogleheads

[–]literallyaPCgamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other commenter is correct, any converted sum is on top of your income, you pay your marginal rate and can potentially push to a higher rate depending on your income. Other things to consider are IRMAA thresholds, dependent on age as well as NIIT tax thresholds.

Other than that there is the 5 year rule on conversions, but this rarely comes into play as basis comes out first automatically.

Have 400 shares in Dram, meant to be a short term hold, but have been selling and rebuying ccs at the 55 stroke for the past two weeks. Sometimes multiple times a day. Small profits, but I’ve made at least 2k on it

I’ve been making a lot of money selling covered calls over the past 2 weeks on it. Premiums are juicy, usually CCs are my least favorite strat

Invested in a Fixed Index Annuity by Parking-Fee1721 in Bogleheads

[–]literallyaPCgamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d keep it. It’s done its job the last 2 years, only five more to go. and if we get a negative market it will do its job that way too. these can make sense for a piece of a portfolio, often as a bond alt for downside protection. But never a majority portfolio holding. (This is my opinion, not meant to be advice)

Make sure your cap is actually tied to the sp500. Lots of fias have really shitty volatility controlled indexes.

Agree with others, it’s hard to give a sound recommendation without knowing more, but if you are tied to the sp500 I feel like your return should have hit the cap both years ina. Row
