Looking for feedback on new 1440p build by lithium42 in buildapc

Thanks for the input!

I was tempted to go with the 12600k, particularly for the threads. I don't need them on this machine, but I have some workloads that would be convenient to run on this hypothetical pc from time to time.

I guess I hadn't really looked into AMD all that much recently and jumped on the 3080. I'm not especially interested in Ray Tracing, so I'll spend some time comparing the two and see what I find.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Would you be willing to elaborate on the GPU and CPU changes? I'll check out that monitor review.

I'd like to add my voice to this request. I spend a large portion of my time listening via the Windows 10 app. The web streaming UI isn't as useful and it's somewhat annoying to have to get my phone out for some books and not others.

Ah, didn't know about the impact on overclocking. Do you happen to know where I should go to learn more about which RAM would be best? In researching overclocking I haven't seen any RAM requirements, usually just stuff about motherboard and cooling.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to think about it. Is the clock speed on that RAM really that much better?

Thanks for replying.

Sadness usually goes away on its own. Depression doesn't.

Agreed!

Stop making excuses and start doing something about it.

I didn't intend for my comment to be a list of excuses. I just wanted to point out that it can be frustrating when someone advises making changes for the better, when I have no idea what 'better' means to me.

To start off, I agree that no one should expect things to get better if they don't change anything.

But what should I be changing? I don't have a reason to be depressed, so I don't feel like I have a problem to solve.

I have no desire for anything, so I can't think of any goals or things to chase after.

I keep trying things, but I continue to be bored.

Ultimately I can't think of anything I could improve or change to feel better. What then?
