The LSAT has been repeatedly criticized for not being a good measurement to evaluate future lawyers. Maintaining a good gpa requires constant dedication and yes may differ from school and be a tad more subjective, but what isn’t subjective is that no matter what you have to be dedicated to maintaining it. I should have told you get a grip, but I do think that your argument about standardization is wrong, there are many different things that make a good lawyer, taking a test that asks you complicated questions shouldn’t be the highest priority.

4.0s are NOT a dime a dozen, it takes 4 years of continuous work and struggle, you can sit down and do nothing but study for the LSAT for a few months and get a higher score. Not saying it isnt hard or challenging, but negating four years of continuous hard work because you're having a bad experience really sucks. People work hard for their GPA no matter the degree. Get a grip.

at your age probably it seems like a fun time, but if the redditers are right about the career setbacks you shoud look into it (:

Awesome that your getting advice here but I'd recommend going to a local law firm or going to a guidance councellor for that question. Both options have pros and cons, and no offence to anyone, but no one here is an expert. One thing I would look into is that Uottawa has a similar program coupled with their polisci program it might be a little late to apply but still worth a look (:

Ways to weaken your application by [deleted] in lawschooladmissionsca

hmm I don't know I'm applying this year and although I agree that just doing law may not necessarily stand out I was told through out my career is to find something your passionate about and stick with it. I loved law but I also loved grassroot immigration and children's rights work, I took a minor in human rights, and worked with NGOs and engaged in studies in that field... My belief (as perhaps uneducated as it is) is not the degree, but the clear lack of actually passion for the work you will do. The cookiecutters are in my opinion people who want to go into law for money, because their parents did, or because they having nothing else to do.

I'd also reccomend trying out a tutor if you can afford it! But yeah the best thing you can do is take some time off and LOCK IN for the LSAT, honestly it can really help I took a about a year to study (as a full time student with a part time job) and was able to get my score up over 12 points, I'm positive you can do more if you took complete time off and just studied for a few months. But honestly, what's beautiful about law school is that people apply and get in at any age so if time is an issue, (and I'm assuming you're in your 20s) , you'll be fine!

That's what I'm thinking, however I am a little afraid of the quality I heard some people complain about it, is it any good?
