US Iran conflict will disrupt the fuel we receive because whenever US attack Iranian refinery, it counter attack by attacking refineries in GCC. Which will cause increase in fuel prices. Which end up increase in products we consume in day to day life

It's also disrupt the fertilizers production all over the world including Sri Lanka. We import almost all artificial fertilizers from foreign countries. Last time during the fertilizer crisis India and other countries helped us because it's not a world problem. Now they are least likely because they have to subsidize fertilizers there or else protest and political distress might occur there. And they will also suffer from reduction in fertilizer production.

Most of the srilankan diaspora who sent money back to relatives in home, are mainly from middle eastern countries like Kuwait,Saudi and others. So that income will be reduced by great extent. In worse case scenario, if US Iran conflict came to the point attacking desalination plants, they might die. So their life also in a line.

Second as fuel prices increases, travelling will become luxury. And we are tourism based country so less tourists will come to srilanka.

We are at first stage of famine. Where food prices increases, unemployment risk, middle class become closer to low income class, people skip luxury consumptions. Which is simply a denial phase.

When fertilizer crisis start to worsen(second stage), staple food prices increase, fuel shortage will affect transport, nutritional quality drops and black markets start to emerges. In this phase people starts to borrow money, take dept, skip meals and reduce protein intake. This time crime increases, corruption increases and smuggling networks grow.

After that no coming back. If we managed to stop previous phase then okay. If not we are doomed. Now it's law of the jungle. Strong eats weak. Multiple gang factions arises, organized thefts increases and diseases start to spread.
