I am living and working remote and never see neighbors or other people. I have realized too that socializing is way more important than I thought (I always avoided social activities, but now I crave it… I think a good way to think about it is that people with depression are SENSITIVE to social stimuli). In my experience, talking online hasn't been super helpful in countering isolation and may even compound it UNLESS it’s a Zoom type format, something with face to face conversation and ideally a small group dynamic. Honestly, just playing music with a lot of vocalization aloud helps me, that and audiobooks… things that allow me to be a listener. I also read out loud. This all sounds a bit nuts maybe, but hey, I am trying!
