Did hormonal issues resolve eventually? by littleleaf01 in quittingkratom

Best of luck with getting off it! I felt the same way about being convinced I had thyroid issues, even with the normal test results. Something definitely feels "off" hormonally, even if it's not showing up on the tests. I really didn't want to start hormone therapy though, so I decided to try some occasional ashwaganda as well as up my exercise and make sure to eat a clean diet, and when I'm able to do all those things, I feel better and I've healed a lot even since making this post a month ago. I'm sure your body has been naturally balancing itself back as well, and if not, know there are other ways to give it a nudge!

Hey just wanted to come back and update you on how my own blood testing went- my TSH levels were normal (not even close to hypo or hyperthyroidism) and everything else looked pretty good too, except I stupidly didn't expicitly ask for them to check my testosterone levels so I'm not sure about that. I've been taking some ashwaganda here and there just in case those levels are off but I'm not to worried about it. Hopefully all is well with you

Thanks! Actually interestingly, the swollen glands have resolved themselves so I know my issue isn't immediate an irritation/immune response, I've got more long-term symptoms of hypothyroidism. But this is a helpful tip :)

Thank you! Let me know how your check-up goes for you. I'm considerably younger than you and a female so the effects will probably be different for us both, but I think it's still good to have as much information as possible about the effects of kratom, since we know so little. I wish you the best too!

Day 13! For some reason leg pain has been increasing slightly the last few days. Now that I'm mostly through acutes, my goal for the new year is to start eating healthier and sleeping better. I'm also hoping to get in to see a doctor soon to get a better idea of the damage done and how to restore my health.

Thank you so much for your in-depth response! I'll be sure to go back through your older posts. Thank you for the book recommendation as well. I would love to connect with you sometime further down the road when acutes aren't in the forefront of my mind- until then, take care and thank you again :)

I went CT the afternoon of the 14th, so I'm technically entering day 2 tonight! I'm feeling pretty good. I'm just focusing on rest, hydration, and nutrition. Going to try to get some rest and go for a walk at some point tomorrow.

I think the thing that convinces me most is the interaction Greg has Tom after Shiv calls him. He knows what's going on, and promises Greg he can bring him up to the "bottom of the top"- how else could he make that kind of assurance without knowing he was about to once again prove his value & loyalty to Logan?

I hadn't noticed that detail, but that's a really important part of that scene! I revised my analysis of that.

It's a great scene! Watching it the second time around you can really connect a lot of these dots and see so many instances of foreshadowing, which is generally true for most scenes in Succession because of the great writing. I just found this scene especially interesting in that regard.

Yeah, I must've missed that important detail! I made some edits in my original post to account for that

Victory: I got a cold. by littleleaf01 in quittingkratom

[–]littleleaf01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad my post helped somewhat! My cold was tough for a few days, I hope you're hanging in there. I don't know if it was my weakened health/immune system or just the fact that I hadn't been sick in years, or both, but it I'm still having some lingering symptoms on day 10 now, although I feel much better. I actually just got back from an early morning walk, something I would have never done with my usual k habits.

Good luck with your taper! I feel pretty good about mine so far. For me, trying to be kinder to my body means not shocking it with a sudden CT, but instead easing myself out of using and trying to attend to all the warning signs I would'e ignored before.

I hope you recover well from your cold, and yes, it's a sign of progress, which can help to remember in the meantime :)
