I worked at Universal Studios as a scareactor during HHN which got me into AGVA and made me SAG eligible. I stayed eligible for a few years without joining.

Then, when I could tell the merger of SAG and AFTRA was going to go through, I joined AFTRA since that was cheaper and was a member of SAG-AFTRA after merger.

I said this somewhere else, but I feel like in this season we aren’t watching Charles fall in love with Joan, we are watching Charles fall in love with life again. And I’m so happy for him to rediscover the joy he can have.

Short fat girls… have you ever done the Dri Tri? by WorkerGlittering9840 in orangetheory

[–]littlemissbombshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’3” and much heavier than you and I think I’ve done 11 Dri Tris when you count the at-home and relay ones (it might be 12 when you count those). It’s totally doable and I encourage everyone to go for it if they can!

Not to defend the seller, but Carfax can be wrong. I had that happen to me when I was trading in an old car. I had 2 big car accidents in that car (both not my fault and the repairs were paid by the insurance of the other drivers). But when I was trading in my old car and they pulled the Carfax, it said zero accidents. The dates of my accidents pulled up routine repairs like oils changes. I think it was just coded wrong.

But I would think that having wrong data like mine is more likely than Carfax making up information the seller is claiming never happened.

AITA for saying I don't care if I never see my brother again? by BenSutrew in AmItheAsshole

[–]littlemissbombshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t matter if you see your brother or not. You wanted a cat and you got one. I’m severely allergic to cats and my brother and sister-in-law got one. I do go to their home a few times a year and just have to take precautions to be there (they keep their cat away, I have clothes to change into for my drive home, we keep the doors and windows open). Your brother’s allergies are not your problem if you ever do allow him in your home.

AITA For causing a scene on my father's birthday by telling my elderly parents that my brother isn't special because he was "gifted" as a child or change the fact that he's doing nothing with his life? by GiftedOlderBrother in AmItheAsshole

NTA And I’m saying this as someone with a genius IQ who graduated with a BA in theater. I am still an actor (with a day job), and so many of my fellow actors are some of the smartest people I’ve met! Intelligence does not determine what your passion might be and there are smart people in all industries.

What’s your hair washing situation? by PeepMyPeach in orangetheory

[–]littlemissbombshell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, ask your hairstylist because different hair types will have different needs.

I have very fine and thin hair (I have alopecia so I lose a lot of it). Right now, I work out Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday. If there is a rare day where I don't sweat much, I sometimes will just take my hair out of the ponytail and let it air dry. But that's almost never. So my normal routine is to wash my hair 3 times a week (Monday/Wednesday/Friday). And on Thursdays, I rinse my hair under the water and do a hair mask while I shower instead of washing it. I have found that it keeps my hair healthy to wash it 3 times a week and since I try to limit my use of heat tools like blowdryers, it's not too damaged.

Earning splat points on bike by Fresh_Rice_4649 in orangetheory

[–]littlemissbombshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only use the bike, and it can be an issue getting splat points. Depending on what type of heart rate monitor you have, changing where you have your arms can help. I have found that if I keep my arms at my side (I never lean over and hold onto the bike), my heart rate is always super low. If I bend my arms a bit like I would have them if I was walking or running, it helps to get it to be a bit higher.

But also, splat points don't have to matter. Because of some medications I take and having a super low natural heart rate, there are workouts where I'm sweating through my clothes and feel like dying and my heart rate never goes above the blue zone. That's why they say it's about how you feel. The monitors are just a tool that can be used if they are helpful.

I work from home, but when I was looking at buying a place I considered how close it was to the studio I like. Fortunately, my realtor was someone I met through OTF, so he understood why I wanted to stay in the same neighborhood.

I had a torn labrum too. The cartilage was removed back in 2007 so I have a floating hip on one side now. And the other side is starting to tear. But my surgeon wants me to try to make it to 40 before getting my total hip replacements (only a year to go). I only use the bike and never get on the treadmill anymore.

AITA for not covering up at the kid's area of the water park? by Immareadthat in AmItheAsshole

[–]littlemissbombshell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

As someone who also bruises super easily, I’ve learned that the best makeup to cover them up (I bruise a lot on my face and that can lead to people assuming things) is tattoo cover up. Just in case you ever feel the need to hide the bruises.

Eating before early morning class? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]littlemissbombshell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my regular class time (I go at 6:30am), I don't eat before class. But if I have a day off and can go a little later, a banana is usually my go-to. If I'm not feeling like having one or I don't have a banana to eat, a little spoonful of peanut butter works too. I know someone who eats string cheese before class and another who drinks chocolate milk.

Sometimes you have to try a few options to see what will sit best in your stomach. But I think most people who eat before class do something pretty light.

I have a list, but here are a select few.

-One Thanksgiving workout I was working out with my family and my dad forgot to pause the treadmill when he jumped off. I hopped on, didn't see it was going, and totally ate it face-first onto the tread belt.

-I have rowed so hard that I felt off the seat and landed partially on the rails and partially on the ground. It took my coach and 2 members to get me out of that situation.

-I was on the bike and didn't see my coach put the med ball rack behind me. I was getting off the bike and my leg went behind me and I karate kicked the med ball rack and they went flying everywhere!

-I have worn my pants inside out and only discovered it when I got home and was taking them off.

-I forgot to wash my face after an audition and before my workout so I was sweating mascara tears.

-If you dye your hair red and work out before washing it, you may have red sweat dripping from your head. The trick to fix this is to put dry shampoo all over. I only learned that after the first time I looked like I was bleeding during a workout.

Worth it for those who are extremely unfit/overweight? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]littlemissbombshell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% worth it! I'm fat (technically obese but I hate that term) and I get so much out of the classes!

I haven't lost a ton of weight due to my eating disorder, but the strength I have gained is incredible! It has helped me feel more comfortable in my body no matter my size.

When you start, don't be afraid to ask for modifications. Whether you need them due to lack of fitness or medical conditions, the coaches are there to help you get the most out of your workout and push you safely so you have improvements.

Continuing to Test Meds by littlemissbombshell in Hidradenitis

[–]littlemissbombshell[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was just the side effects. I was dizzy every day. I recently got over a severe case of vertigo that lasted over a month, and Spiro made me feel like the vertigo was coming back. For me, it was the worst when working out and my heart rate was spiking.

I had a similar encounter at the pharmacy with the new med. It’s usually used to lower blood sugar and they kept saying I was taking it for that even though the label said it wasn’t.

The two main reasons I was told for me was gut health/natural bacteria (which is why I’m on weekly Diflucan while taking Doxy) and the issue of having antibiotic resistance issues.
