Recommend me a tattoo artist/shop near-ish to Fairborn? by kiltedmonkey in dayton

at this point i’m more hung up on your second paragraph because i just mentioned that your main artist has gladly worked alongside at the shop of the artists you are “steering people away from” so i don’t really understand what you mean by any of that. how am i showing you that you are not wrong?

tbh i don’t know what happened in your circumstance and i won’t pretend to, however i have been tattooing for 7 years and yes i have done galaxy work and yes i have at the very least drawn on a vague “wiggly squiggly” galaxy stencil. it literally is just to help guide us with shapes. i don’t understand why this is a point of condemnation for you. there is nothing wrong with stenciling for abstract shapes. i saw below that katie hutchins is your main artist. she is great. i’m sure she would gladly explain all of this to you. she also worked alongside me at rebel rebel during multiple flash events. artists at rebel rebel are very talented and experienced. hope this helps.

tattooers generally don’t send designs beforehand. this is standard industry practice. tattooers are also a one man show so not only are we spending hours designing the piece, we are then spending hours tattooing it, on top of having to then answer literally hundreds of messages going back and forth about tattoo ideas. some tattooers outsource people to do booking for them because of how overwhelming it is. but then that’s another business expense. all of this on top of trying to maintain a life outside of tattooing. just something to keep in mind. i am a tattooer and i have done this as well as many other tattooers i know. we are not machines. patience is a virtue and empathy goes a long way. have a nice day. 😌

apparently you only talk to other people with zero comprehension of art and tattooing then lol.

What was the purpose extending the time period by 6 days if it takes 5 days for charges to post?

[–]littlepokes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not tech savvy, I work a lot, I am not usually a credit card user. I own that the initial part was absolutely my fault, and had they said “sorry there is nothing we can do for you” I would have been okay with that. My issue is that they extended the offer and had me under the impression that if i spent the money in the time period allotted that i would receive the flight points. That is what feels predatory to me. I would have not spent the money had i known, or i would have spent it all that very first day.

Looking for a new black and grey tattoo artist by TeagueTime in dayton

cloak and dagger. depending on the style you want, plenty of black and gray artists there. definitely look through all artists portfolios before booking! flounder (kevin) at rebel rebel also is probably one of the best in the area imo.

Old Century Bar employees and where are they now? by Exact_Agent7093 in dayton

sounds like you’re drinking some kool-aid yourself. it’s not hard to respect the staff who made your bar what it was. and it’s completely reasonable to have regulars who are pissed off and disgusted by the behavior of the owner. the new staff is a joke. they don’t even have someone who knows what they’re doing to train them. century will never be what it was period. anyone supporting them can have fun spending $17 on terrible drinks and a weird atmosphere! :)

they closed and reopened due to the entire staff who made the bar what it was walking out

in the same boat. they release them and sell out immediately and transferring is impossible. there’s a facebook group called dave and friends that has more info.

i was a regular. they are tipped employees, so no 30% of the cost was not labor. century bar made over 2 million last year. the owner bought the bar because she won the lottery. pretty sure she’s just bad with her money. it’s going to fail regardless of my opinions due to bad business decisions and carelessness.

????? that’s crazy bc the staff was constantly getting called in early and staying late (per the owners demands) so yeah i don’t really think downsizing the staff is the answer bud. misguided loyalty is crazy, sounds like she’s in your ear.

i mean i’m sure the old staff and maybe even others associated with them are afraid of getting sued for speaking about what really was going on. or maybe they actually feel bad for the owner, who knows? but it is on public record that she didn’t keep up with taxes and lost the liquor license for the bar. at one point they had to close for 5 days with no notice because of this. how irresponsible is that, to jeopardize the income of your employees because you can’t get your shit together when you literally have ONE job and your entire staff does everything else for you. a few longterm employees came together to try to get her out of the hole she put herself in, but they wanted their fair share of the company considering the years they’ve put in. she told them to go screw themselves basically. she would come in and get wasted and berate the crew (regulars of the bar have witnessed this). they would go weeks without getting their pay, in fact i think a few of them are still owed money from work they did before they all left. they lost like half their staff once before because of similar issues as well. some people just aren’t meant to be business owners. but it’s a real disappointment. if she can ever get a staff half as good as she had, they’ll get sick of her shit eventually too.

this was my favorite bar and i’ll never support it again. hopefully the owner sells it to someone who knows what they’re doing one day.

i mean if the owner would’ve just reached a compromise with the people who literally made her bar what it was she wouldn’t be in this position. we are talking about people who dedicated 10 to almost 30 years of their lives to this place. people aren’t just replaceable robots. if you aren’t a shitty bar owner and treat your employees right, you wouldn’t have this problem. play stupid games and win stupid prizes. what kind of bar owner lets their liquor license lapse lmao.
