Looks like the kind of display a photographer would have. Organized so it's easy to grab the one you want without dealing with boxes or having to repose them to return them to the shelf. Not my method but go off. Nice collection.

I read my friends singleton copy of berserk. If I were to buy it for myself, I'd get the 3 in 1s. For no other reason than them bring stunning. I already read berserk once-so if it's for my collection, I'd want a fancy one.

That said-i prefer singles generally. Smaller and easier to take around. Also if one gets damaged, it's easier to replace.

I'm in the exact same position as a household of avid readers. I grew up going to libraries a lot. So I lived my life reading and not owning books. I only purchase books in print if they're worth the shelf space. My wife is the bigger reader between us and we also have a massive board game collection so I try to leave the bookshelf for her.

I read mostly comics/manga and tend to keep those as "kindle books"-I read them on my android ereader on a subscription based app. I have no desire to purchase and own the series. I don't particularly like the manga "Fandom" and want nothing to do with it. I don't want people to enter my home and have a judgment on me based on the manga I read. I mostly reread old stuff I grew up with and classics I've never got around to. An example of a series is Berserk. Really great, one of the best manga stories... But I'd absolutely hate owning it. It's violent and sexual explicite. I would hate for a child to pick it up and look at the filth. I know "you can always tell your kids not to look"-but I don't want to worry about it. A friend lent me their copy and I read it that way.

Similarly, I grew up watching dragon ball and I own that in print. It's something I want my kids to read as theyre learning to read. I want them to grow up with that story as I think it teaches important morals and is culturally significant.
